The Best Tabs Available,
By J. Paige "paige_212" (Berkeley, CA) - See all my reviews

I agree with the other reviewer. I have tried so many different kinds of write-on tabs from a variety of companies, and nothing compares with these. They are easy to write on; the ink does not smear; and they are easy to read afterward. There is adequate space to write multiple words. The tabs are also durable, and easy to navigate through during an exam. I used these tabs during all three years of law school and I highly recommend them to everyone I know.

I tab my cook books, books, etc... I love these tabs! I use them for my planner as well and I can reuse them from planner to planner! I love that I can write on them with a fine Sharpie and re-use them. So fun easy to use!

These tabs are a great size - I was able to write a few words on each tab. Although they're quite sturdy, they're paper-like, so you can write on them with a pencil or pen (without fear of smearing or smudging). As you can see from the main product picture, the sticky part of the tab is clear, so you can see through to the page that it's stuck to.
The only reason I give it 4 stars is that, when I remove the tab, some fibers of paper are removed with it. The paper is by no means destroyed, and perhaps it's just the type of paper that happens to be in this book, but it would be nice if it came off flawlessly. Not a big deal, though!

I always purchase and recommend Avery products. As I am working on a number of my children's and family scrapbooks these easy to use tabs are great for marking new "chapters" in my memory scrapbooks. Easy to write on and affix to a page. You can also 'unstick' the tab and place it elsewhere with ease. It also does not 'slide' or drop off when opening and closing the books numerous times.

I bought these tabs based on the other 3 reviews that all had 5 stars. Completely agree and echo what they said--sturdy, your writing doesn't smear, and easy to reuse.

I use these Avery Write-On Tabs, 1.75 Inches, 48 Tabs (16143) both to mark key areas in books and binders, plus also as low cost dividers for binders on the fly.I punch a hole in the top to keep one in my binders and keep another in the laptop bag in case. They have been great and low cost...

I purchased these to assist me in preparation for a National US Government Licensing Exam I took, the tabs are very well made. I was very satisfied with the quality and the ease of writing on them with a Sharpe Marker (Fine Point), and that they stayed exactly where I put them in my reference books. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for quick tabbing ideas that are handwritten, you could even print clear adhesive labels and attach them to these tabs for a cleaner look. Hope that helps you with your purchasing decision. Thanks for reading!

I annotate regularly as part of a daily journaling practice. I mark, I highlight, and I note my way through everything I read and write so am always interested in any product I run across that might streamline the process; in this instance it is Avery's Write-On Tabs.
To label any page (for quick future reference) in the past I have: *...used Post-It Notes as both page markers and labeled page markers (so I was able to find a particular page quickly without the need of examining each and every marked page). *...used paper clips to flag particular pages without the benefit of a label. *...carefully recorded all my notes on index cards (at times using colored cards to denote specific subject matter) and leaving the topmost portion of the card exposed allowing a label. *...Post-It Flags which do mark the page wonderfully and are removable without damage to the page. *...Post-It Page Markers While each of these solutions does absolutely mark any page for future reference, there are drawbacks to each limiting their usefulness. The Post-It Notes have always been my go-to choice as I am able to not only mark and label a page but also make an abbreviated note on the unexposed portion which can be a very helpful reminder of why I marked the page in the first place. The Notes, however, are not necessarily designed to 'tab' so their flimsiness precludes longevity. Paperclips do mark a page wonderfully but allow no method of labeling -- the pages are deformed by the clips and marking too many pages immediately makes you the new best friend of any airport metal detector. Index cards are just too apt to lose their place for any one of a thousand reasons and once dislodged I have usually found it best to just hope that the information I was trying so diligently to save wasn't as important as I originally thought: finding the correct location to reinsert the card correctly is nothing but an invitation to re-read the book. Both Post-It's Page Markers and Flags are huge steps in the right direction but are both so small as to discourage a written note large enough to read. Which, finally, brings me to the Avery Write-On Tab. This product has so far answered every page-marking need I have; it adheres firmly to the page assuring a degree of permanence yet is removable if required without damage to that same page. The tabs come in several colors so color coding is possible, simple and quick. They are large enough to write on clearly but are not so large that a tabbed book's movement through life in a pack or bag will destroy them. I still revert to one of the older methods from time to time, most especially the Post-It Notes, I find that I am becoming increasingly fond of the neat functionality of the Write-On Tabs.
