Product Description

This is the real thing - super cool and totally authentic! Premium High Quality Weight And Feel We have been searching for Aviator mirror glasses with REAL GLASS lenses for years and we have secured a limited supply of these totally authentic 70s Style sunglasses. The silver mirror lens has exactly the same degree of high reflectivity seen in the original 70s mirror Aviators - total sun protection for your eyes - to be used on the brightest of sunny days . . and nobody can see which way you are looking! The Classic original Aviators were first introduced by Ray Ban, originally for use by pilots but since then they have undergone many design modifications and by the 1970s the Aviator had evolved into something new, the classic shape and mirror lens was the iconic 70s style.

The style has been popular since the 1960s, but became even more so in the 1980s following pop culture icon Michael Jackson, and later use by celebrities in films like Top Gun, where Val Kilmer and Tom Cruise sported them. Sylvester Stallone wears this brand of sunglasses in his 1986 action film Cobra.

The frame was too big for my face (female) and ended up sitting on my cheeks.

I have had quite a sunglasses collection over the years, particularly in the 70's and 80's I had quite a few pairs of Aviators made by Ray Ban and also Porsche design, the higher end ones were always in a different league in terms of the finish and manufacturing quality to the cheaper sunglasses you can buy in the mall. I was definitely spoiled by having some great designs in the past with excellent build quality and I would say that one of my main problems these days when trying to find a decent pair of Aviators is that real glass lenses are extremely difficult to find. If you walk into any Sunglass Hut and only ask to see shades that have real glass lenses it immediately narrows the choice down to virtually nothing, most sunglasses today have plastic lenses which logic dictates must be inferior and more fragile than glass lenses. I have had several pairs of Oakley, every one with plastic lenses and each one had to have their lenses replaced due to scratching one by one. The optics may be similar but there is definitely a huge difference in terms of durability and overall quality if you are using a pair of shades with actual glass lenses. OK, so this brought me to these Aviators, I started looking around for a 70s style silver mirror pair and literally every one I found had plastic lenses, they all seem to be cheap novelty products worth about $5. The closest thing was Ray Ban but they don't make a silver mirror model. So I tried these ones and I am very impressed! Glass lenses for the first time on a silver Aviator! the difference immediately stands out, the lenses are nice quality, UV400 protection and nice solid chrome frames so I would recommend these highly, a great pair of shades with all the right specification, genuine RealGLASS branded glass lenses and at a very reasonable price.Read more ›

I don't usually write a lot of reviews for products, but I read a ton of reviews before buying anything; thus, I felt like this review was needed. Frankly, I think the bad reviews are misrepresenting this product in many ways. Sure, the bad reviews where the glasses were received scratched would merit a bad review, but that should be against the seller more than the product. Mine, however, were not scratched in any way when I received them. They were in perfect condition.

The reviews stating how these glasses are "too large" with the inclusion of "...and I have a big head..." were a little unnerving, but I thought I'd buy them anyway. The thing is that these glasses claim to be 70s style aviators, and if you know anything about that style or have ever seen them, you would know that they are a little larger than most other glasses. That IS, in fact, part of the retro style of these glasses. Frankly, it has nothing to do with how big of a head you have, it has more to do with the shape of your face, among a few other things. I will fully grant that these glasses won't look just great on everyone, but no good pair of glasses may ever make that claim. Yes, these glasses are just a tiny bit larger than my other aviator pairs, but for me, that works, it's awesome and the style is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Furthermore, although I am not a small person, neither do I, nor do others I know, believe I have an overly "large head." However, my wife tried them on, who happens to be a smaller person in many respects, and yes, they did look a little comical. Frankly, my OTHER aviators almost look just as comical on her as well, so it is hardly fair to write these glasses off as a bad product. John Lennon style glasses, although awesome, look comical on me, but quite nice on my wife.

I am really pleased with these glasses, my friend bought a pair and I really liked them so we both have them now! I have been looking for the right ones for ages and up until now could only find total plastic junk, these aviators are really solid, full metal frames and the lenses are actually made of real glass which is rare nowadays, the mirroring is really effective as well and they are not too dark but perfect for a bright sunny day. I like the black case and cloth as well, very nice set and exceptional quality. Top Gun!

These aviators are exactly what I have been looking for, they are built well and unlike others I have owned they have real glass mirror lenses. I found these after ordering several pairs from other sellers and was disappointed to get plastic lenses, but the third time was the charm, this time I have found a awesome pair of shades. They look and feel like 70s classic aviators and have metal chromed frames that feel smooth and solid and silver mirror lenses that you can see out of but nobody can see your eyes. They come with a nice mat-black case and a useful cleaning cloth. These sunglasses are easy to clean and I am very happy with my purchase!

The title says "with Genuine Distortion Free Glass Lens", but the distortion on the lens was the first thing I noticed. The lenses are also SUPER big and one of them was scratched. They looked really cheap, not worth the money at all. I had them returned the day after I received them.

I guess a red flag should have went up in my mind when I opened the case and noticed finger prints all over the lenses. I assumed it was maybe how they were packaged, and an employee smudged the lenses. I tried them on and immediately noticed a defect in the mirror chrome right in the middle of my vision. I took them off and examined the lenses. The "chrome" is really just cheap tint applied to the lens. Mine had holes in it and areas worn through making them incredibly annoying to see through. They honestly looked used. And the "real glass" lenses? I swear they were plastic. They had the plastic feel when flicking them with your fingers and even flexed like plastic. It was no glass I've ever seen. I decided to splurge and pay 30 dollars because I was sick of really cheap 3 dollar sunglasses, but what I got was 3 dollar sunglasses I paid 30 dollars for. Avoid these made in China pieces of junk, especially at the price.
