I have very thick, long hair (down my back) and my hair dresser has always used the Affirm products on my hair with wonderful success. I moved away and decided to do my hair myself and I get the same great shine, softness and texture that I did when my hairdresser did it. I'm so glad Amazon.com carries all the product line, especially the 5 in 1 Reconstructor which, unlike the previous reviewer, leaves my hair very soft with no breakage or dryness. I even us a semi-permanent hair color at the same time I do touch-ups, which is every 6 to 8 weeks. In between touch-ups, I wash my hair and use Affirm's 5 in 1 Reconstructor those times as well.

I have been a loyal user of Affirm's 5 in 1 reconstructor for over 4 years now. My first experience with this product was when my hairstylist "mistakenly" over-processed my hair attempting to put highlights in. My stylist offered to correct the problem of excess shedding and breakage due to the damaging effects of the highlights with the implementation of the Affirm 5 in 1 Reconstructor into my weekly visits. Yes, I did say weekly, for some that may be a bit much but for my coarse, thick hair it was ideal! I noticed results immediately with the first application and week after week I noticed less and less shedding and breakage--it took about a month before the breaking and shedding stopped completely. I now have my healthy hair back and even though I do not use the stylist any longer, I do continue to use the 5 in 1 reconstructor! I was previously using Aphogee as a monthly strengthening treatment and it does work well, but I prefer Affirm better because I was able to see results quicker with Affirm than Aphogee, also it has a pleasant scent (IMO-Aphogee stinks), it is thicker--it has the consistency of pancake syrup (Aphogee is watery and makes your hair hard after its dry) and you don't have to stay stuck under a hair drier for the product to work. (Please, please, please make sure when you use this product to use a good moisturizing conditioner afterwards and do not use with heat (e.g. placing a plastic cap on and sitting under the drier) as this product has a lot of protein in it and can be very drying; you simply apply the product after washing, applying a plastic cap to your head and then wash out the product after the product has been in your hair for 30 minutes (no heat required) and deep condition with a MOISTURIZING conditioner afterwards!! I continue to use the Affirm 5 in 1 monthly to maintain the strength of my hair (a week prior to relaxing) and will continue to remain a loyal Affirm 5 in 1 user. This product will always be a mainstay in my hair maintenance regiment.

I was reading the previous reviews and one of the reviews pertains to the relaxer system and the other to the reconstructor so I think that the second post shouldn't even be listed under this product. Just the same I love, love, love Affirm's 5 N 1 reconstructor! I have thick, coarse, shoulder lenght hair and it works wonders for me! About 5 years ago, a stylist overprocessed my hair which resulted in extreme breakage and shedding from improperly applied highlights; however, she did offer to correct the problem by using Affirm's 5 N 1 reconstructor as part of a weekly regiment to fix the problem and I must say that this product worked wonders for me immediately from the initial use, I instantly saw a big decrease in breakage and shedding and I have been sold on it ever since. Since this mishap I no longer utilize the services of the stylist but I do still use Affirm's 5 N 1 reconstructor! My hair is very healthy now and I continue to use it as a part of my monthly hair regiment (a week before relaxer retouches). I will remain a loyal consumer of this product as long as it is on the martket be it via beauty supply stores (local and online) or Amazon! I have nothing but great things to say about this product.

Excellent, excellent, A+++ product. Recommended for weekly use. I have been using this product since April 2011 and I must say, I am a true believer in all Affirm products especially 5 in 1. After suffering a bout of constant hair loss and (the annoying use weaves to supplement my hair loss), this has definitely aided in saving my own hair and my sanity to boot. Try it at home or take it to the salon with you weekly. Buy your own bottle, greedy hair stylist will charge you $20 extra just to condition your hair using this product.

When used in conjunction with the Affirm relaxer products, the 5 in 1 eliminates the worry (if used as directed) of the brittleness and loss of elasticity of the strands once the relaxing is complete. The main thing anyone using pro-strength relaxers should know is that the TIMING charts are extremely important. I've read some reviews where the users were obviously not trained in the field of hair care, and they OVERUSED or MISUSED the products, thus leading to a damaging, irreparable condition. Be wise, and if you are not skilled in prompt installation, thorough rinsing, conditioning, neutralizing, and deep moisturization, PLEASE do not try professional products. Beauty stores stock box kits specifically for non pros. You will be safer in the long run, even though box kits can be drying and not last as long. In time, consult a professional if you feel that your "do-it-yourself" relaxing has left you high and dry.

i bought this product and have been using it for 2 months and it does everything it said it does my hair is not shedding have a lot if body and bounce and a beautiful shine if you use the reconstructor and follow direction you can't go wrong love it and it has done wonderful things with my hair i am ordering my second bottle

This is one of the best deep conditioning reconstructors i've ever used. It's a good high quality salon conditioner that made my hair look and feel healthy and soft.

I purchased this with the Affirm relaxer system. This is a great product if you are looking for something that gives you "slip" - which I've found to be really great if your hair is really tangled and damaged - after washing hair, just glop this on the damaged section and it makes that section easier to comb through...or massage it into hair and sit under dryer. I wish I knew about this "slip" thing before! But overall, it's a great product. I would strongly recommend getting this as part of your relaxer hair care regimen.

This is a great conditioner to go along with Affirm relaxer product. Hair felt great after relaxing! Can't wait to use it again with my next relaxer.
