I bought this unit to harvest fruit from our tall mango tree. At first I was a bit put off by the price. But, when I received it, I could see that I had paid for quality workmanship. This puppy is made from thick, solid steel with nicely welded joints. It's what you would expect from a quality product made here in the USA.

Getting a pole for it was rather easy. I just went to Home Depot and bought a 16 foot expandable pool cleaner pole which costed less than $20. The unit has two holes through which you can attach to whatever style of pole fits your fancy.

So far it works fabulous for harvesting those sweet mangoes in the upper reaches of my Keitt mango tree ;-). You can find those cheap little pickers at Home Depot for a bit less, but it's not worth it. This boy is king!

I purchased two different avocado pickers at the same time. I like both, but this one has a leg up. I attached this picker on my long pool pole that was recommended in other reviews. That application worked well. I have some extremely tall trees and this set up was successful. I like the soft basket to catch the avocados without bruising them, but it can get heavy if you are not careful. The other picker I purchased can pull avacodos off the branch faster, but pulls a fair amount of branch off frequently and can't reach as high. The reviewed picker makes a clean cut, but takes a bit of technique. It is recommended!
