5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely amazing!, September 30, 2009

Not one flaw. Each and every track grabs you and takes you in, rolling through highs and lows. Each track is allowed to develop, and never rushed. This isn't `chamber music prog'. The influences are more in the taste of Riverside, a touch of Agalloch, and perhaps O.S.I. (first cd). I hate to say "they sound like..." because this band has a unique sound that grabbed me from the first track, first 10 seconds. At a tad over 55 minutes, I was totally bummed there wasn't more. I just wasn't ready for it to end.

I can't do this justice by breaking each track down. They are all amazing. Go to their MySpace site, and give them a listen.

Now, to get the REST of their stuff!

4.0 out of 5 stars Do not avoid them, November 8, 2009
This review is from: Avoid the Light (Audio CD)

Recomendado para seguidores de Tool, Isis, Daturah, Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, Agalloh

Wow this is some good stuff here..Long Distance Calling is a new 5 piece band from Germany.Talented guys with some good ideas.Mostly instrumental experimental prog metal fusion without the growling screaming and shredding. Some really good music, heavy, spacey fusiony get down power prog.Take Porcupine Tree, mix in some Riverside/Lunatic soul and a tiny dash of fusion and you get this great music.Avoid The Light is very worthy album and is highly recommended. As is their other couple of albums including Long distance Calling 2011 2 disc spec. edition with Live at The Roadburn 2010 included.4 solid stars.
