Great album, great artist, December 6, 2008

This album was named the album of the year by the Fort Worth Weekly in 2003. I'm not sure I would go that far, but it is a terrific album by a great artist who is a relative unknown. "Avoiding the Circus" is a great mix of alt-country and rock, with some punk influences thrown in as well. Herring is a great songwriter and vocalist. FYI, his subsequent albums, "The Other Side of Kindness" (2005) and "Past Life Crashing" (2008), are even better than this one. If you like alt-country, I would highly recommend that you check out Collin Herring. You'll be glad that you did.
