A Shoreline Dream can be dangerous to listen to while driving....and I mean that in a good way. After a long day at work, I almost crashed my car listening to this one the first time. Crafting layered, spacey and hypnotic songs in which washes of reverb-drenched guitars settle into the spaces left by the whispering, effects-laden vocals, "Avoiding The Consequences" comes across like Doves meets Isis with a sprinkling of Radiohead. This album was very soothing and tranquil, with enough instrumentation and unusual elements to avoid the pitfall of boredom. Recommended.
