4.0 out of 5 stars cooling eye treatment, December 1, 2008
This review is from: Avon ANEW CLINICAL Eye Lift (Misc.)
This product has two parts, a cream and a gel in one little tub. the cream absorbs quickly into the skin around the eye and the gel feels wonderfully cool when applied. The lines around my eyes have improved, and the appearance of bags underneath have lessened, so I am very pleased with this product. There is almost no scent, for those who are sensitive to strong smells. I like having both parts together, it makes for an easier routine. The only negative i can find is that you have to buy it often, as each tub lasts about a month. But it is worth the price, so I order two at a time.

5.0 out of 5 stars great eye product, February 2, 2009

i had been searching for an eyelid treatment and Avon delivered! who knew that the good ol' reliable Avon company would have such a stellar product! in a matter of just a few days, the crepey(sp) top eyelid was fading noticeably. Now my eye shadow doesn't look like crumpled paper! the lower eye cream is fine too, although for my personal taste( I live an very, very arid area) another brand works better for my skin type.
this is product is very gentle and doesn't hurt my sensitive eyes as there is no smell! hooray! a little goes a long way so at this price it's a super bargain.
please try it and enjoy!

1.0 out of 5 stars Carcinogenic & Toxic Ingredients, December 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Avon ANEW CLINICAL Eye Lift (Misc.)
I just received Avon's Anew Clinical Eye Lift and was very disappointed to discover that it contains at least 5 toxic and carcinogenic ingredients that I can identify -- maybe more:

Butylene glycol - Toxic, according to the EPA which warns against contact to prevent brain, liver & kidney abnormalities; penetrates skin, weakens proteins & cellular structures; found in anti-freeze & is strong enough to remove barnacles from boats!

PEG-10 - Carcinogenic; reduces skin's natural moisture, increases signs of aging and leaves one vulnerable to bacteria; used in spray-on oven cleaners and other cleansers to dissolve grease and oil!

PEG-60 - Same as above.

Other PEG-related compounds - ethoxydiglycol & cetyl hydroxyethylcellulose; same effects as above.

Who wants these on their skin, the largest organ of the body that absorbs whatever it comes into contact with? It's amazing that products like this (and there are so many!) don't have to come with warning labels. They really should. Sure, these compounds are used in small amounts, but over time they build up in the body and wreak havoc on your health and well being. We need to be smarter consumers and avoid products like this at all costs. And, sellers need to list their products' ingredients! It'a a "buyer beware" market for sure!
