i think that this cd is good, it's nicely put together, and the music is good. i think that brandon's voice sounds like papa roach... if papa roach for this style: a rock\screamo\acoustic band. the keith and brandon's voice nicely mixes with the drums and guitars. these guys are awesome. [...]

Doesn't stand out from the crowd
Bleed the Dream's "Awake" is a fairly bland CD. It's not terrible, just derivative of so many other indie emo bands. They appear to be decent enough musicians, but the songwriting lacks imagination. By the end you can't really tell one song from another. The singer's voice is ok, but he completely overdoes the "emo" aspect, wailing out each line like his leg is caught in...

By the end you can't really tell one song from another. The singer's voice is ok, but he completely overdoes the "emo" aspect, wailing out each line like his leg is caught in a bear trap. "Awake" is an ok CD that doesn't do anything to stand out from the crowd.

Amazing band, great CD, April 18, 2006
This review is from: Awake (Audio CD)
I think Bleed the Dream is one of the most underrated bands out there. Their stuff is amazing.
The vocals go great with the intrumentals and they aren't comparable to any band from similiar genres.
They really fit into a few categories but just like a lot of bands these days sounds so much alike, Bleed the Dream, doesn't.
Definitely give this CD a listen.

More good stuff, March 10, 2006
This review is from: Awake (Audio CD)
If theres one thing about music thats for sure, is that some bands suck because they sound the same. Bleed the Dream definetly does NOT fit into that category. Every song on this CD makes it worth buying, but of particular note are the soul screeching vocals, punchy bass and guitar on Solace. Scott's drumwork (RIP) on this CD as well as Built By Blood has tons of hooks and fills to keep any drummer with taste satisfied for months. Watch out for these guys...
Fans of hardcore need to check these guys out. If you're bored with the usual metal, definetly pick this CD up.
