5.0 out of 5 stars Another 5 Stars!
This Album Was Fantastic in My Opinion!Of course, Brittanians might opt out on this because it does have a different feel with an interesting array of songs. Jesse Hold On, Jump Down, The Shy One are clearly the pop anthems on this disc, following in the footsteps of their last hits. The slow songs include "I Shall Be There", "It Was Our Day", and "Are You A Ghost?",...

3.0 out of 5 stars Bwitched has been semi-successful in maturing.
Bwitched's new album Awake and Breathe won't be exploding up the charts as their previous album did. The group has beutiful new instrumentals and an overall more mature sound. However, this new sound does not combine well with the very child like voices of Bwitched. "jesse hold on" the first single to be released of the album took some of the hit producing...

This Album Was Fantastic in My Opinion!Of course, Brittanians might opt out on this because it does have a different feel with an interesting array of songs. Jesse Hold On, Jump Down, The Shy One are clearly the pop anthems on this disc, following in the footsteps of their last hits. The slow songs include "I Shall Be There", "It Was Our Day", and "Are You A Ghost?", my personal fave. Then there are the others. "If It don't Fit" could be debated as a pop anthem, but it's a pop-alterna-hip hop type song, another fave! "Someday", the "Oh Mr.Postman" tune"Leaves", a funky-sounding tune, which grows on you. "Red Indian Girls" the western-native beat which is politically Incorrect. "My Superman" is the disco tribute to the album, "In Fields" Is another growing song, it's very sweet and fun to sing along to.I RECCOMEND this CD as it's great! You'll immediately find yourself questioning,"How would the video look for this" and "What would the dance routine look like?" A major plus for B*W!

5.0 out of 5 stars B-Witched " Awake and Breathe", November 30, 1999

The B-Witched cd was so cool. It has all the music from other worlds and has its own musical taste to it. For me it is so interesting and you get to experience the world of new music. The music and songs on the Cd are much more different than from the old B-Witched cd. As you know try it. Listen to the samples online. If you don't like than thats okay. Its all a matter of opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pleased with new CD, November 30, 1999

As a person in my early thirties, I suspect I am not the typical B'Witched fan, but I find them refreshing and fun.Having enjoyed the first cd even though it was not consistant, I was pleased with my first listening of Awake and Breath.

It is much smoother and mature while retaining their obvious enthusiasm and love of their music.

5.0 out of 5 stars B*witched defies the sophomore jinx, November 2, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Awake & Breathe (Audio CD)
B*witched has a knack for recording some undeniably catchy tunes. This disc is more mature than their last, but B*witched hasn't lost their sense of fun, which was nice to hear for a change. Many younger singers try desperately to revamp their images after their first wave of popularity has faded, and completely lose the innocent, carefree raw energy that gave them their appeal in the first place, trading it in for bottled sensuality (Are you listening Mariah Carey and Britney Spears?). With an image that is less plastic than that of the other young female stars that have recently become popular, B*witched has defied this trend, and delivered a disc that is sure to earn them more respect, though perhaps less commercial hits than their last release. Standout uptempo tracks on this album are "Jump Down", "Oh Jesse" (inane lyrics, but a darn good beat!), and "The Shy One". The ballads on this album are generally stronger than those on their debut, with "I Shall Be There", and "Are You A Ghost?" being the standout tracks. Surprises on the the album were "Leaves", a mildy psychedelic ballad (good production but a bland song) and "In Fields Where We Lay", an acoustic ballad with a distinct folk flavor that is truly beautiful. All in all, a more diverse, less formulaic album than their last with better lyrics and less cluttered production. The vocals on this album weren't the greatest, but weren't upleasant, either. Some voice lessons wouldn't hurt these girls, but let's face it -- a good song doesn't care who sings it, and there are many of those to be discovered on Awake and Breathe. This is a disc you won't regret buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than their first album!!!, December 15, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Awake & Breathe (Audio CD)
I think there is a good comparison between this album and 98*'s "98* & Rising" album:

01 If It Don't Fit--Reminds me of one of the WB dramedy shows, but not my favorite. 7/10

02 Jesse Hold On--It's like Sting's "All This Time", but it's also like located near the Appalachian Mountains. 8/10

03 I Shall Be There--A wedding march song!!! It's like a combination of 98*'s "I Do" and Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes". 10/10

04 Jump Down--It's like travelling through daytime New York City, but #1 song of this album. 10/10

05 Someday--Medieval times and it's a theme of "Alice In Wonderland". 9/10

06 Leaves--Travel through the farmlands of Northeastern United States area with this track. 9/10

07 The Shy One--Tough song, but something to reflex on. 9/10

08 Red Indian Girl--Walking through Southwestern areas. 9/10

09 It Was Our Day--A beautiful country song. 9/10

10 My Superman--Disco through daytime New York City, but not my favorite. 7/10

11 Are You A Ghost?--A haunted ballad, but should have been released on radio. 9/10

12 In Field Where We Lay--Acapella, like Boyz II Men's "Yesterday", 98*'s "She's Out Of My Life", Robyn's "I Wish", and N'Sync's "I Thought She Knew". Wish the college girls can do that in their own college. 8/10

13 Blame It On the Weatherman--Orchestra version of the first album's track, to close this second album. 9/10

"AWAKE AND BREATHE" IS A GREAT ALBUM. IT HAS HITS ON IT LIKE "JESSE HOLD ON","JUMP DOWN","SOMEDAY" AND MORE. I WAS NOT PLEASED WITH "I SHALL BE THERE". BUT WHEN I MET THEM THEY WERE SO NICE. I REALLY DO THINK YOU SHOULD GO PICK IT UP.

5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly Better than the first!!!, October 31, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Awake & Breathe (Audio CD)
I have loved B*Witched since I first heard "C'est La Vie" on the radio. I immediately went out and bought the CD, and was especially pleased with the fact that they incorporate Irish jigs and traditional Irish music into it. As soon as I found out about this sophomore effort, I knew I had to have it, and when it came out, I rushed out and bought it, too. I have to be honest, though I love their original album, I think that "Awake and Breathe" is even better. The girls have obviously grown up in their first year on the music scene and their sound has also matured. The songs are deeper, more like they really came from the hearts of the singers. One of my favorites is "Jesse Hold On", and the new orchestral remix of "Blame it on the Weatherman" is really beautiful. A tip for B*Witched fans: Buy "Awake and Breathe" at Target. You'll find three extra songs on it, remixes of "Jesse Hold On", "To You I Belong", and "Blame it on the Weatherman". I thoroughly enjoyed this CD, and I recommend it to all who enjoyed their debut album.

Bwitched's new album Awake and Breathe won't be exploding up the charts as their previous album did. The group has beutiful new instrumentals and an overall more mature sound. However, this new sound does not combine well with the very child like voices of Bwitched. "jesse hold on" the first single to be released of the album took some of the hit producing ingredients found "Cae' La Wie" spelling? I was hoping for more outbreaks into irish jig. That is really what made this group so appealing in the first place. But, instead I received an earful of trend hopping. The song "My Superman" is definately "spicegirlesque". Over all the album isn't that terrible to listen too, it just isn't that great either. Most of the songs do have a nice little hook to sing along with. If anything, you'll enjoy the musical/instrumental variety throughout the cd.
