Most Helpful Customer Reviews

7 of 7 people found the following review helpful By Scott Rosenbluth on September 15, 2011
Format: Audio CD
It's only been a little over a year since their last album, but Pathology have returned to bludgeon listeners worldwide with another battery of Death/Grind endurance testers. The formula is the same as it's always been: pummeling, blast happy, double bass ridden drumming; furious, finger snapping, death/grind fretwork; volatile, gurgling, growling vocals and banging bass lines. The musicianship and execution have been raised a little and the production is better than ever, with a bone-rattling low end and crystal clear guitar tone. The only problem is that the vocals are completely, insanely indecipherable! It's as if Tomb of the Mutilated era Chris Barnes, gargled nails and glass with some gasoline and recorded an album! However, if you are willing to look past that and try to figure out lyrics from the liners, you'll be rewarded by some crushing death/grind that sports moments of grand riffing magic, complete with solos, and some thunderous mid-paced mosh starters and heavenly headbanging. I still can't believe this is a Victory Records band! How out of place they must feel!

Straight up Death Metal. Fast, hard, and straight to the point. If you like this album you have to give their previous releases a listen.
