This is a beautiful little book which comes as close as anything I know to articulating the philosophy of harmony. Each section is a reflection on a timely or timeless issueAcceptance and Love, Saying No, Abortion, Reverence. The words are thoughtfully passionate and resonate with an implicit hopefulnessThere will come a day when this era will be remembered as the time when seeds, long ago planted in the human heart, began to sprout out of the earth and be touched by the suns light. Robbins fans will recognize and revel in the unadorned eloquence. Where religious dogma fails, The Awakened Heart shines like a beacon of light. It has been my constant companion through troubled times, and an inspiration during good times. The individual readings cover every aspect of life - there's something for everyone in this book. The readings are short and very well organized. You can read this book cover to cover, or open to a page at random and read in any order that appeals to you. Read one-a-day - it'll be the best "vitamin" you take. It has truly become my "bible" - I refer to it constantly, recommend it often, and buy it for friends as a gift. When I used to teach yoga, I would take a reading from the book and read it to my students at the end of class to leave them in a positive and inspired state of mind. They loved it - you will too!
