back in the 90's, i believe seance were 1 of the leaders in their genre. swedish brutality made up of superb riffing and amazing time changes. very intelligent songwriting and fantastic production, put seance amongst the elite of death metal. it was sad to hear they had disbanded after only 2 albums, so to see they had made a comeback was very exciting, but then to hear the actual album was even more amazing. seance have lost nothing and "awakening of the gods" should see them retain their place on the throne as one of death metals finest! more of the same brilliant songwriting, typical seance. and welcome back the awesome vocals of johan larsson! many hails to seance

Hailed as one of Sweden's biggest export and yet remarkably underrated bands of all time, technical Death Metal masters SEANCE's legacy is restored with a perfectly fitting album `Awakening Of The Gods'. Never abandoning their technicality-infused style and now peppered with a mammoth dose of Thrash elements, this is undoubtedly an album that will remain as another classic album in many years to come. A lesson in sonical violence indeed!Featuring past and present members from Witchery (Tony Kampner aka `Toxine', Rille Rimfält and Micke Pettersson aka `Mique Flesh'), 11 intoxicating tracks were recorded and mixed at Linköping's HellSmell Studio, with the finishing touches by world-renowned mastering engineer Peter In De Betou at Tailor Maid Productions (Dimmu Borgir, Dismember, Meshuggah, Hypocrisy, etc). If you have liked the earlier two releases. You will like this as well. The packaging is nice with one of those new deluxe jewel cases and the in lay card is printed on REALLY nice and thick paper. I enjoyed this release and I'm sure you will too if you were into the band previously or are into the other bands the members are involved in.
