Sometimes a little is more than enough,

I know the biggest complaint will be that there are only seven songs on this album. But I'm the type of person that will take an album of seven strong songs over one with extra songs of fillers that you may skip anyway. Every song on this album are all great to me. I have had this album on repeat since purchasing it this morning. Two had to grow on me but they grew by the second listen. Sometimes you have to let people know that you can actually sing through a song and not holler your way through it like some artists.1) Sunday Best Medley 1: The songs featured in this medley are The Color Purple's "God Is Trying Tell You Something" and Commissioned's "Running Back To You". These two songs will remind you why you fell in love with Le'andria. If you watched the show Sunday's Best then there is no need to go into details. You now have the performances in audio format. 2) Cast The First Stone: I wasn't a fan of this song at first but it grew on me. The message is simple, we are all sinners but worthy of God's love because we all fall short at times. So be careful who and how you judge your fellow man. It's catchy and anyone can sing the chorus along with her on first listen. 3) Make Him Like You: My favorite song on the album. I love the groove of it. She is definitely singing about something she knows very well. She is testifying that she wants her man to be like our Father. Her heart is in this song and you will have no choice but to love it as well. It stays on repeat for me. 4) New Reasons: A throwback to Doo-Wop as she belts about the reasons why she shouldn't cry because God gives her new reasons to keep pressing on. It's a fun song with a throwback to the 40's and 50's with a touch of traditional Gospel, and a modern arrangement given by Le'andria. 5) Jesus: I loved this song the first time I heard it. I loved it even more after seeing her singing it live on Youtube. Don't we all need to call on Jesus. There is power in the name and I felt she captured the struggle and redemption in the song. Once again she is singing something that she has experienced or still experiencing. 6) Struggle Not: Le'andria is one of those artists that can build a song early and keep you lifted until the end when she brings you down. This is the song where I took my shoe off and threw it at my player because she took me to church. She sang this song. If you don't feel the spirit on this song then I don't know what to tell you. 7) Sunday Best Medley 2: The songs featured on this medley are her versions of Myron Butler and Levi's "Set Me Free" and her final song on the show, "Leap Into My Destiny". This medley will have you rocking and let you know that Le'andria is not done. She is just beginning. Bottom line, you will understand why she entitled this album, The Awakening of Le'andria Johnson. She is testifying about her life, her realization, her struggles, her lessons, and I love what she is saying. It was worth every penny I paid. UB

Loved everything about the album,
This review is from: Awakening of Le'Andria Johnson (Audio CD)
I love her and I love every song on this album. I cant stop listening to the cd in the car the job and my house. And what I love more than her voice is the lyrics. She is a street preacher. Many of you have forgotten what LeAndria had to overcome just to get this album out before the finale. She had to deal with the industry, she then spoke on losing her way then she lost her brother to a violent crime and still had to produce an album within a few months. Lets be real. And you all are complaining that she only had 7 songs. Who was gonna sing those 15 songs for you.. Matthew Knowles? I'm just saying. I can't wait for the next album to come out.
