My training is in math and science. My work is in engineering. Saints and yogis over centuries have testified credibly that great things are possible, so I consider it likely. For me, it isn't "real" until I can manage to see for myself. Consequently, I've looked into lots and lots of spiritual growth books and seminars over a long time. All of this is done with little progress. Because I've put in a lot of effort over a long time and gotten essentially no results or even bad results, I postponed buying this book for a long time. Actually, most of the people I've encountered on the way are "new age" people, and most of them seem to take an immediate and personal dislike to me (especially when I ask something like, "How would I know that?")

I've been following taped correspondence lessons put out by the author's organization for about a year. With long and very consistent attention, I have at least some minor results. So, I bought the book. This is clearly not another insubstantial new age offering (it isn't "new age" at all). I would personally like to be able to read the book through like a novel and experience some great catharsis that might give me direct access to new levels of high perception. Well, it doesn't. It does give very great and detailed substance. There isn't much chit chat or filler. The book is giving information and exercises. Done consistently over a long time, they actually do work as the author says. It is a path to improved perception, although it is not a path I've completely finished yet. At this stage, I've seen for myself many of the starting things. I recommend this to people who are willing to make a longer term and patient exercise out of the options discussed here. As I said, I'd like to read it in an evening and realize it on the spot. A tree doesn't grow big and strong over night. It can only grow at a natural rate. This shows how to grow an aspect of perception at a natural rate. See for yourself. Know for yourself.

I started reading about the third eye at age 7 more than 40 yrs ago. This book gives, simple, practical instruction - that if followed will DO as the title says....I have learned tons and am only halfway through the book.

This book has an incredible amount of practical information and techniques to implement in daily life. Dr. Sagan has truly been able to outline spiritual knowledge in an easy practical way, so that anybody can awaken their own non-physical perception.

I keep going back to the book again and again to gain further techniques to implement in my daily life. From a beautiful, but simple meditation on the third eye to developing spiritual vision, energy protection and dousing land energies....and so much more!

This book is a must to anybody interested in developing their own spiritual vision, and who are not satisfied with just reading about it or listening to doctrine.....

In all the years I've been studying the chakras, this is the first book that make the Third Eye "click" for me. After reading just the first few chapters, my life has been changed for ever. If anyone is interested in becoming aware, of learning what it truly means to exist, read this book. The tools it equips you with will show you where and how to look for answers to your deepest questions.

Dr. Sagan's book is very very thorough in its coverage of this subject, and it is easy to read, easy to understand. The first exercise that I did from this book yielded psychic phenomena immediately. I had never had this experience before. Finally a book that produces what it says it will! My experience with this book caused me to want more, and eventually I signed up for Dr. Sagan's complete correspondence course. It was wonderful! And I was so sorry when it ended. If you take the course, though, you will find that you are pretty much on your own with it. My experience was that questions get answered very very slowly if ever. However, it was still worth it. I have all of Dr. Sagan's books and have found them invaluable for my spiritual growth.

What a marvelous and productive spiritual book. It is a rare combination of Steiner, Taoism, and Eastern spirituality. There are so many gems in it and practical suggestions that even if you won't attempt to open your third eye, you can use many of the book's hygenic practices.

I wish I had known about this book sooner. And as mentioned above there is no need to pay for it, because you can download it FOR FREE from Dr. Sagan's website! What others new age authors don't say in a whole book, Sagan says in one or two chapters!!!!

I heard about this book from a guy who attended a seminar held in Zagreb by author's school. He told me that, following the exercises in the book, you can attain the same results he had in the seminar. The book itself is really interesting, full of various techniques, however i relized for half of the exercises i cannot be sure if i'd done them right. Throat friction, the most basic techinique all else is based on, for instance. In order to know how it is done properly, and if i am doing it right, i would need to HEAR it. I found that most frustrating, so i finished reading the book without really doing the exercises. Therefore i cannot tell you if it works or not. Full of very interesting views and theories thou.

A very comprehensive guide of occult practice (trying to) revive the lost art of internal alchemy in the West. As the initiation process has been lost in the West, Mr. Sagan learned his stuff from Eastern masters, and built upon it all the way to the quest of the Holy Grail. Such search for spiritual self initiation/enlightenment clashed with Christianity where God's grace rather than personal pursuit should be the route for higher-level of spirituality.

Mr. Sagan's book is an advanced manual on the subject. He wanted to initiate a few rather than sold his techniques to the mass like many DIY New Age gurus did. Even if one can't reach that kind of spirituality eventually (as some reviewers admitted), a consolation prize will be an improvement of one health through diligent chi or pran practice. In this area, the practice-principle of Mr. Sagan is essentially rubbing along one's meridians and inducing vibration (chi-sensation) along the meridians in meditation or meditative mind-set. Whereas in the East, chi-generation is most advanced and have a whole array of techniques and practices for one to choose from, the third-eye or astral aspect has been clouded with mysticism and difficult allusions even for those who know the languages. In this regard, Mr. Sagan gave an excellent account of his path to astral initiation, and that alone worth one's effort of study (and Mr. Sagan has been kind enough to allow a free download of this book from his website).

Mr. Sagan promised more after this book, that naturally can only be have from his website; and for purchase of course. One problem with Mr. Sagan's practice is that it is so advanced that I would think most interested readers can't even get through the practice of half of his books (surely the consolation prize will worth one's effort). Perhaps those who can't but are still fascinated by his practice can vicariously join him in his spiritual exploration, through read his mythical fictions like Atlantean Secrets.

As a student of the author's work for about a year now, I can say this book is "the" primary text of the school. I don't necessarily recommend hurling yourself headfirst into the meditative practices, because if you're like me, it can be a bit TOO much. But, all extremely valuable learning experiences...and I'm still plodding my way through the book a year later, page by page...experience by experience...interspersed with his other books, including the "Atlantean Secrets" series, which I've already read twice!

Practical. Positive, tangible results.
