The life affirming meanings of the cards are found in the companion book which includes five card spreads - Signal, Energy, Star, Dream and Healing - to help understand the energy aura and gain an insight into current and developing relationships. Charts in the book show the astrological and numerological significance of the cards. The pictures are stylized adaptations of prehistoric carvings from Celtic, Egyptian, Norse, Native American, as well as European Palaeolithic and Mesolithic sources.

About the Author
Susan Haliday Lives in Virginia where she owns a small publishing company. She was born and raised in Utah, but has lived in many cities across the country. She lived in Central America for two years where she worked as an Army Medic. She has a background in practical nursing, astrology and art. While working as a practical nurse she became interested in the relationship between attitude and healing.

Insightful and entertaining.,

This book was delightful and insightful to the extent it addressed some personal issues I had been dealing with. It validated some feelings I had been having about myself, other people and certain situations, and some 'inner' knowings that I had had doubts about for some time but a small part of me really believed. It really helped me to recognize my intuitive self. The cards are colorful and the meanings are easy to remember. The interpretations of the card spreads could have been enhanced if the the author had provided a couple of sample readings for each spread in order to synthesize the information gleaned. The author should have offered more specific information or detail in the followng areas: if cutting the cards was necessary, exactly 'what' to wrap the cards in and how to store them; it was not clear if you dealt the 'spread' cards off the top of the deck, or if you lay out all 48 cards face down and then 'pick' the designated number of cards for the spread of interest. The author mentioned 'smudging' the cards with incense. Did she mean card by card (one by one) or passing incense around the entire deck or passing the deck through a cloud of smoke from the incense? Despite the unclear instruction on setting up the cards for use, I did what I 'felt' was right and was amazed at how on-target the cards were. Each card had an active/passive element associated with it. Again, clarity on these aspects and how they affect interpretation would have been helpful. A better defined table of the cards in elements and signs and keywords would have been nice. At times, I found I I had to simultaneously supplement the reading of the book with another text on astrological signs. I liked the compact size of the book - it could easily fit into my purse. Hopefully there'll be a subsequent, expanded edition that will address these concerns. This is a very worthwhile volume.
