For the curious reader, this book should not be categorized under "Christianity." This is not a Christian book. The description of the book says, "take a journey into your own heart and see where it takes you," but the Bible teaches that "The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick" (Jeremiah 17:9). The invitation to "follow your heart" is a philosophy closely tied to New Age, but is totally contrary to Christianity. That this book is New Age is also apparent when the description for the book says, "Let God work through you by being you." Again, that is not Christianity; rather, that's panentheism--a philosophy associated with Eastern mysticism.

I'm not saying that you should necessarily avoid this book. Just know that it's miscategorized under "Christianity." As soon as it's removed from "Christianity," I'll be happy to remove this review.

I only recently purchased "Awareness of the Heart", but what I've read changes my view of both the spiritual & physical life. Sidewalk Bends uses simplicity to evoke a whole flood of thoughts to ponder much like a poet stirs emotions into thoughts & questions. Each relative short entry will reveal & entice thoughts and stir the soul for days.

If you want to see a part of yourself that you didn't know existed, I highly recommend "Awareness of the Heart".

This book is ok. SInce it's free I don't feel bad having downloaded it. I would not have paid for it though. There are a few real gems of wisdom in the book. The author appears to want to share "deep" "spiritual" understanding but ends up giving out dime store fluff for the majority of the book. I felt as though I was reading a series of random blogs which were poorly written. That's my biggest beef with this book, is that it was very poorly written. There were so many passages where it seemed the author was attempting to be poetic or eloquent and it just fell short. I'd suggest the author buy a thesaurus and a dictionary and proof read before publishing their next piece of work.
