5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Book in the Series
I think that this book is better than the last one in this series. Georgia is 16 years old now and she is crying over the Sex God leaving her behind. She still has a thing for Dave the Laugh but meets a new guy in this book
Georgia's parents are focused on more in this book and her wise cracks about them are hilarious. I laughed out loud multiple times when...

1.0 out of 5 stars This is for the CD version only

I love this series and this installment, but the audio version was very unsatifying...

not only is it not narrated by the person who did all the others (and did a much better job), They also leave out the 'Note from Georgia' AND the glossary in the back of the book for no apparent reason...If I'm going to pay for this to be unabridged, why am I not...

Georgia's parents are focused on more in this book and her wise cracks about them are hilarious. I laughed out loud multiple times when reading it. The only thing that I don't get is the title. I might have missed something while reading!
Worth buying and reading. It is a quick read, only taking me a couple nights to do so.
If you haven't read any of the other books in the series, here is the list in the order they should be read:
1. Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging
2. On the Bright Side, I'm now the Girlfriend of a Sex God
3. Knocked out my my Nunga-Nungas
4. Dancing in my Nuddy-Pants
5. Away Laughing on a Fast Camel

this is the best!(and longest) book so far in the series. georgia misses robbie, still has the horn for dave & meets her new double cool with knobs sex god, masimo. she gets to keep one of angus's kittens, who is crosseyed. she snogs dave, even though he's just her horn adviser, and she is going to follow masimo to america. i got this book the day it came out, and had it preordered since february. i finished it in 2 hours & loved it.

5.0 out of 5 stars still fab after 5 books, May 31, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Away Laughing on a Fast Camel: Even More Confessions of Georgia Nicolson (Library Binding)
Georgia Nicolson is depressed after Robbie leaving for kiwi-a-gogo land, and her friends aren't very comforting. Things get worse when dave the laugh gets a girlfriend after leading her on. his explanation is that he's still got the general horn, so he and georgia sort of decide to be just friends(with benefits of course!) And she doesn't mind, because she has found a replacement sex god in the form of Masimo, the new lead singer of the Stiff Dylans. Georgia finds a book in her mother's room that tells how to make any man fall in love with you, and she is determined to put her new-found skills to use. This book had just as many laughs as the last ones, if not more. it is really much better than nuddy pants, and is just as good, if not better than sex god and nunga nungas. Have fun!

Another irritating thing is the fact that they only recorded it on cds, they might be better in the long run, but, are harder to listen to, because you can't stop it and leave it excatly where you were, you must start wherever it tracks (3-4 minutes) unless you just leave your cd played paused, which drains batteries.

so, I love the story but I hated this audio version...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabbity fab and beyond the valley of the brilliant..., June 23, 2004
By
Louise Rennison has yet to fail me (which of course, I doubt she ever will!) with her extraordinarily realistic and ultimately humorous novels. Written in the perspective of a confused teenager on the brink of new love and red-bottomosity, the entire series is loaded with sarcastic and emotional humor that never surfaces as cliche. I love these books so much and am too excited to wait for the paperback (a personal fave of mine, but I'm too impatient!) It really is worth the buy--even hard cover, which is a bit more costly. If you are a fan of English (British) comedy, romance, and CATS (her cat Angus is super comical and also on the brink of love, whereas his "female cat friend" Naomi weilds the General or possibly Cosmic Horn--which basically means she is in love with everything) then you should definately buy it! I liked this one specifically more than the previous books...I don't know why, it just sort of had more juice, I guess.

5.0 out of 5 stars laughing A LOT on a Fast Camel, August 20, 2004

I was at first concerned that this (the fifth book in the series) would be just a repeat of the other four books, with the humour growing stale. IT WAS NOT. I started reading it in the bookstore, and I absolutely pissed myself laughing. I was nearly asked to leave. It has a hilarious plot, with lots of (my favorite) Angus action, introducing Angus offspring! Excellent!
I totally recommend this book for those who've read the rest of the series. It has to be one of the best. ( And a hot new love intrest doesn't hurt.)
One thing though--why can't I have a Horn Adviser too? It would make life so much easier! Some people have all the luck...

5.0 out of 5 stars Très très amusant, Fabbity Fab, and such...., July 11, 2004
This is most definetly the best book since "Angus, thongs..." (but of course you still need to read 2,3, and 4 to keep up with the plot) and possibly the best book yet in the series. This is one of the few books that has actually made me laugh right out loud. It seemed like quite a while from the time I found this title listed on the pre-sell list and the time that it was actually released, but it was most definetly worth the wait. As I realized my reading had dwindled down to less than 100 pages I was torn between finishing it (because I really wanted to know what happened) or pacing myself because I knew I'd be sad when it was over. lol. There will be another book in the series right? I can hardly wait 'til it comes out as this book kind of left an open ending. This book was "vair vair" excellent!

4.0 out of 5 stars Well, I wasn't away laughing, June 9, 2004
By A Customer
I love this series, and it never fails to find me desperately reading on to the next page. I am not quite finished, but I am one of those people who looks at the end of the book after reading the first three pages. The only thing I don't like so far, is that the male characters have really changed. The sex god is not a very active character anymore, and my favorite, Dave the laugh, has changed for the worse. The book starts off really slow, and than the pace gets faster. There is a new character, and although I do like him, he is almost exactly like the sex god. There obviously are going to be sequals, but Louise Rennison is running out of things to write about, so in this book things repeat themselves, and it often feels like deja vou. I do recommened reading this book for people who read the last four because you do have to know whats going to happen. The funny british language in the book is getting more extravagent, and I often find myself almost using it. I am eager to try out the different tips about boys that appear in every book, including this one. All in all, this book is a "good laugh".

4.0 out of 5 stars Away Laughing on a Fast Camel, January 26, 2005
I found this book to be a fun read. It is written in the first person from the perspective of a teenage girl in England. The "lingo" is a bit hard to follow, but one can easily begin to feel a part of Georgia's life and understand her feelings. The book moves a mile a minute, as does Georgia's multi-faceted world. She has parents that embarass her, a little sister that "LUUUUURVES" her and a very promiscuous tomcat named Angus. She talks a lot about snogging, (kissing), her desire to make a boy fall in love with her, her friends and how they are way too immature for her and how frustrating it is to be in a family of "crazies"!
Every teenager could find something they'd relate to in this book. They will surely laugh outloud, as I did, while reading it.

5.0 out of 5 stars LMAO, June 7, 2004

Oh man. Yet another great work by Louise Rennison. I am about the age of the heroine in the book and I was once again amazed at how well Ms. Rennison can write out about the teen world, and find it hysterical that there really is no difference between teendom in England and teendom in Nebraska, USA. I reccomend it to all of my friends and anyone who is a mood for a nice long laugh. (My mom thought I was going insane when she heard random explosions of laughter from my room throughout the day).
