These two ladies have put together a very good album.
Their blend of hip-hop, jazz and soul is infectious and refreshing.
THEESatisfaction, the Seattle duo Stasia Irons and Catherine Harris-White, remind me of the beautiful start of Floetry.
But they are more adventurous musically and more aware socio/politically.
It is rewarding to hear a new release from an ever-growing alternative R&B/Neo-Soul genre that offers good, soulful beats with intelligent lyrics.
I really love their phrasing and delivery, their emotional intensity is amazing.
Their voices swing fluidly and seductively from new jazz to 60's psychedelic and soulful hip-hop beats.
My favourite tracks are "Earthseed", "Queens", "Deeper" and 'Naturale".
It's worth the time to listen to it.
Definitely one of the best albums of 2012.
You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Soulful, feminist, indie-label hip hop? I'm so there! Great album; bought it after I saw them live & was impressed with how entertaining two chicks & a mac book could be on stage. Well influenced & true to life tracks. I hope their next release is longer

5.0 out of 5 stars A very pleasant surprise July 26, 2012

After hearing the fabulous track "Queens", I saw that Amazon had this download for cheap. It was worth every penny, and twice that even. If you love that ineffable mix of R&B and jazz, then this will not disappoint. Standouts include the dark motional groove of "Earthseed", irresistible "Queens", ultra-groovy "Sweat", jazz-hop "God", and the funky "B!tch". If you like even one track or sample, then the album will give you your money's worth.

I recently saw Theesatisfaction with Shabazz Palaces in Denver, CO. AMAZING show -- incredible music -- not to mention the dance moves, which are irresistable.
This album takes me back to the bay and the women who live there. :)
BUY IT!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars THEESatisfaction - Queens of the stoned age April 19, 2012
Format:Audio CD
THEESatisfaction are Catherine Harris-White and Stasia Irons and they hail from Seattle formerly the grunge capital of the US. Despite being on the Sub Pop label their music alternatively couldn't be further away from the hard rock legacy of Nirvana or Soundgarden if they tried. "Awe Naturale" is easily the most interesting and intelligent debut album of 2012 thus far and its short time span barely clocking over 30 minutes it has enough variety to entertain the Queen at the London Palladium. Harris White and Irons have constructed within this tight time parameter an album that fuses together jazzy vibes, ultra cool hip hop, good old fashioned disco and a large dripping of funk. As a band they send you back to that creative vein that De la Soul so brilliantly mined on the groundbreaking "3 foot high and rising" when hip hop could have taken a more friendly and playful turn in a new "Daisy Age" before it detoured into a preoccupation with gangsters and guns.

THEESatisfaction first announced their arrival in 2011 when they appeared Ishmael Butler's Shabazz Palaces album, "Black Up". And as if by magic Butler returns the favour appearing on two standout tracks here the rolling dark trip hop of "Enchantruss" full of complex beats and looped vocals and the joyous "God" which draws on traditions of Gil Scott Heron and Sun Ra with its conscious themes of black empowerment and the key line "we are breaking out". The vocals of THEESatisfaction are uber confident on this track and signal a sense of adventure and swagger which would scare other more experienced artists. All tracks are worthing exploring in detail but are drawn to the pulsating funk of "Queen S" where you are firmly instructed to "Leave your face at the door/turn off your swag and check your bag".

Nuthin to say but Good beats and rhyme. Luv the flow of the album. Not filled with so much filler songs that detract from a lot of albums these days, especially in hip-hop. Great work guys, cant wait for another album from THEEsatisfaction.
