The list author says: "We have been fortunate to have tried many products for our new one. This is a list that we would recommend as being a must-have, especially for first time mothers who do not know where to begin. Good luck and congratulations on your new little love!"
"Find a good diaper bag...we have a Sucy (sucy on etsy.com). They are fantastic, handmade but talored to your liking. I have bought several for my friends and heard great reviews but didn't know how great they are until I got one. It is now my staple shower gift. May seem pricey but worth every penny and more!!!"
"This was my bible during the 9 months of preparation. There is also a great website with blogs to check out info on products and bargains. I have bought baby 411 now that she is here. Definately get this book. Best pre-baby gift I received!"
"We got this second hand at the last minute because her crib was not able to go in our room for the first few weeks. It was great to have her right by our side and still get some sleep without the fear of rolling on her. However, I have read from others to buy the regular size and it doubles as a pack n play too."
"We have one of these swaddle blankets and plan on buying another one or two. Make sure you have the 47x47 (not the 44x44). I will definately give these out as shower gifts. Not only are they good for a sleep or calming swaddle, they are fantastic to use for a travel blanket for carseat cover."
"Saved my breast feeding experience! After we got home from the hospital and many tears later, I remembered the nipple shield. My husband flew frantically to get it out of the drawer and my life was changed in an instant. Yes, they were still sore but not the bone wrenching pain shooting through my body. I think it made her gassy but it got us through the rough patch."
"Only one you will need. We have them all...desitin, butt paste, mustela, aveeno, etc. This is the only one we use because it is clear...no mess!!! It is hard to find and usually not in the baby department in stores but in the pharmacy section under baby."
"Got this as a gift (yes, I was lucky!). However, I read that you can use your nursing bra and rig up a "hands free" type thing. I have done this around the house because it is easier. When I return to work, I will use the hands free kit in it. Definately worth the extra bucks for hands free because you can get on the computer, do dishes, talk on the phone, pay bills, etc."
"Awesome! She didn't start using it until 7 weeks but loves it. She looks at the butterflies and talks to them, sleeps in it, and checks out the room in it. It has multiple seat positions...best of all...it is a battery and plug use swing so you can save your money on batteries and plug it in the wall!!"
"We actually got the set for a shower gift and like it all. As a must-have out of this set, I would say the newborn foam shampoo because it seems to help the most with dry scalp. We have used Aveeno, J&J, etc and this helped the most. The rest is great but is more expensive than other products."
"Get any sterilizer. We ended up purchasing this one after I went through so many Medela steam bags that it was costing more for us to buy the bags then it was a sterilizer. This was the cheapest one we found but it works just fine."
