This whole series of books is just fun. There are recipes, cartoons, simple line drawings, vocabulary words and more. The books claim to be the "horrible histories" but they are still interesting and fun. My 9 year old has read these books and has asked for more.

Not exactly what I expected . . .but probably okay for some uses,

I bought this for homeschooling my early elementary child. It is definitely for an older kid. It's funny and I'm sure he will enjoy it when he is older, but it's not really a stand alone history book. Definitely for use AFTER your kid understand the basics of the era, then it could add to the enjoyment of learning history.
