4.0 out of 5 stars A Sarcastick Opera for A Sad Society.....?!?, August 24, 2002

This review is from: Awol One & Daddy Kev "Number Three On The Phone" CD (Audio CD)
Daddy Kev is droppin some swing breaks.... This is a new anthem for the people I deal with everyday. And who better to mock an entire civilization than the Awolrus??
No one I tell you! He is a borderline schizo, a rambling visionary, and a great MCee of the rarest breed. He's willing to just let the tape roll. He's got written verses and choruses, but he'll always build on it and talk that ish.
His agressiveness comes out on a few tracks. Daddy Kev has brought out a different side in Awol, and it's a good sound for both of them. I hope to see more of these collaborations as well as the 'Lost Angles' compilations.
Celestial was a classic production center, from dj Hive to O.D. on 'beneath the surface', and the website always pushed the Shapeshifter crew. Now it looks like the Records Broken title has taken new form and this release may be difficult to get for a while....but it's a classic and it exists and it will probably be re-released...
So if you have Souldoubt and you like the idea--grab this CD. The beats are even better and Awol is much more adapted to the styles of rhythms Daddy Kev is capable of.. 'Decompose'(trk.5) is my personal favorite, but there all quite nice really....
