This guy is some kind of freak of nature. From Segovia
to Hendrix in a single bound. A lot of guys tout themselves as versitile, but this guy Morphs (that's what his website charliex.org calls it)into something totally different. It's weird but he has a LOT of music to express and does every style FULL ON. Nothing is watered down here. GREAT songs and a totally new thing, but be forwarned: The music on this CD is EXTREME! There is no consideration given to fitting in with current trends. Charlie X is truly doing his own thing. Some of this music is cutting edge (certainly, the artist is) but will likely take a good while to be acknowledged for it. The songs range from folk type acoustic (with vocals) to heavy jazz, rock and classical. I've never heard this kind of range from anyone. |
