5.0 out of 5 stars Smells peppery, effect on women is great
First of all, I would suggest not to just open a bottle and smell a product to decide if it works for you. Just like cologne, some things smell much differently after they combine with your own body chemistry.

I bought the bottle without really smelling it and I personally didn't like the smell of Boost the first time I tried it. I almost threw it away, but...

3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't smell all that great
I love Axe products. but this one isn't the best smelling one they have. Cleans as well as the others. Just not digging the smell.

First of all, I would suggest not to just open a bottle and smell a product to decide if it works for you. Just like cologne, some things smell much differently after they combine with your own body chemistry.

I bought the bottle without really smelling it and I personally didn't like the smell of Boost the first time I tried it. I almost threw it away, but then my wife came home and told me how much she loved it. Every time I wore it she wanted to "eat me up" and that was enough for me to keep buying more. She still loves it after 6 months of me using it and I know some of our female friends also like the smell.

I guess it makes sense that if I went with something lemony and clean smelling I might like it more (and maybe other guys would too) - and I don't want other guys attracted to my smell, so I'll go with what my wife likes.

Boost reminds me of the smell of ground pepper, my wife says it smells like "masculine candy" - okaaaay. If it works for her that's good enough for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite Axe product, February 24, 2010
This review is from: Axe Shower Gel, Boost, 12 Fl oz (354 ml), (Case of 6) (Health and Beauty)
I instantly fell in love with this scent as soon as I opened the cap in the store to sample it. Some people say it has a "peppery" smell? To me (and my girl) it smells masculine and manly, and has a distinct smell that I'm completely hooked on! Cannot find this in stores anymore, I wish the people at Axe would stop discontinuing their best smelling items!

1.0 out of 5 stars I would recommend any other Axe body wash before Boost, June 30, 2008
This review is from: Axe Shower Gel, Boost, 12 Fl oz (354 ml), (Case of 6) (Health and Beauty)
I bought Boost without having smelled it beforehand. Big mistake. With so many great Axe body wash choices, I don't know why anyone would willingly and knowingly select Boost as their first choice. To be perfectly frank, I think it smells a lot like sweat and there's something unnerving about rubbing an oozing glob that turns milky red as you lather yourself. I highly recommend Groove (rare in that it produces a strong, almost overpowering smell and yet it manages to work because it smells great and makes you feel really fresh). Phoenix also has a great, refreshing "soapy" smell. Clix is a poor man's Phoenix. Touch almost smells like watermelon bubble gum, which isn't as strange as it sounds (the only problem is Touch has a thin, runny consistency unlike the other Axe washes which are more like gels). Re-load isn't bad, but it's mediocre at best.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Item Infused With Lava!!, March 12, 2007

The provacative deep red hue is appealing enough to make you "judge the book by its cover." But once you buy it, you'll feel relieved by its pleasant yet underbearing smell. Just a couple of drops will yield great foaming action, enough for two rounds of scrubbing. I like using this product with AXE Below Zero body spray, having a little fun with mixing the "hot" with the "cold."

My husband bought this one. To us it smells like Pine trees. It's a very strong smell. But I like it.

3.0 out of 5 stars It'll Get You Clean, But You Might Not Smell Like It, December 10, 2007
This review is from: Axe Shower Gel, Boost, 12 Fl oz (354 ml), (Case of 6) (Health and Beauty)
I usually enjoy using Axe products. The body sprays, deodorants, and shower gels are all pretty good products. However, Axe Boost seems to be the first misfire from the guys who come up with this stuff. Boost just has a funky little smell to it that I do not like. This gel supposedly stimulates your mind and body via the guava and volcanic extracts it contains. Well, the only thing stimulated on me were my nostril passages due to the odd little aroma that wafted from the bottle.

This gel, like all of Axe's gels, will leave you feeling clean. However, Boost will not make you smell that great. I don't recommend it due to its odor, but I won't give it less than three stars since some folks do seem to like the smell.
