I thought at $79.99 this was a good deal. Buyer beware. The picture quality is less than DVD quality. The color is washed out. It DOES NOT handle SDHC cards. This was the main reason I chose this item. It did manage to play pictures from my 128mb SD card, however the color quality was terrible. I cannot imagine paying full price ($149.99) for this DVD player. My advice - shop around for a different model.

This is a really nice product! I push a button, a cover pops up, I insert a dvd and hit play. The sound and color intensity buttons are on the side as is the on-off button. I put it on my stomach (lying down on the couch) and watch. The sound is okay but could be a tad louder. But it works. And the image quality is fine. And I am really really really happy with it. In terms of sound and image quality, it is far better than my laptop. And it doesn't heat up and is lightweight.

There is a button on the back which you move if you want to attach it to a large screen like a tv I believe. Anyway if that moves, there is no image on the Axion screen. That happened once. Easy, just flip the switch.

I love it. Recommend it. Sorta like having your cake and eating it too. Got it though Amazon at a great price.

The AXION AXN-6091 9-inch Widescreen LCD Portable DVD Player has been a very valuable addition to our viewing pleasure. We can watch a movie or an educational DVD without using the TV and the connected DVD player. When charged, it is possible to watch with no power attachment. My wife watched her favorite art instruction disc, starting at the breakfast table, moving to her comfortable recliner for more. She even used it while she was resting in bed.
The power plug is set up by her recliner, so the unit can be recharged while she watches her art classes. She had thought she would like such a portable DVD player. After she used it for a while, she wouldn't give it up!

This product works well for what I wanted -- a replacement portable DVD player for my toddler because the amplifier in the GPX player I purchased on clearance at Sears went out. I wanted a player that wasn't going to be so inexpensively built as to be cheap, but I didn't need the super-delux-ultra-everything model. I don't have a lot of money to be throwing around, especially on fancy electronic gadgets for a child. This player has most of the controls on the player, which is nice. The other player (that broke) required that you used the remote for anything other than playing or adjusting volume. It was so small that I was terrified of losing it and not being able to navigate the menus on some of the DVDs. I don't like the sound quality as much on this unit, but my son isn't complaining so it works fine. I also like the 9-inch screen better than the 7-inch screen we had before. Sometimes this unit doesn't want to play a DVD with a complex menu right away, but we just try again or pick a different movie.

I purchased this portable DVD player for kids entertainment during road trips. It performs very well for this purpose. It gives really good quality of video and sound. Battery lasts around couple of hours on a single charge.

I thought it was a great deal for my seven year old for Christmas. He is a bit younger than his brothers and sisters so he gets bumped off of the tv quite a bit and doesn't get to watch his younger shows. I thought this would be great for that.

He sat down to watch it on Christmas and it froze halfway through the movie. We had to turn it off. We tried again the next day with a different dvd and it did the exact same thing. It has to be returned, disappointing.

We were taking around a 2,000 mile trip and wanted to buy a player before we left. I chose the Axion. This turned out to be a great decision. I read other reviews and they were overall good. The sound quality on ours is very good so I am not sure why others had issue with it. We had to turn it down. Maybe they have loud vehicles and can't hear it or have the windows down. Who knows. Inside the house we have to keep the volume down. The picture is great but you will want to use it on the darkest setting as the brighter settings are too washed out. I think the darker you make the screen, the faster the batteries are used up. This doesn't matter to use as we use the car charger and a/c plug when we are at home. So just keep this in mind. It is probably the same way with every player.

The memory card slot was the big thing for us. It worked great.

We also bought a mount that fit between the headrests. We got it at Best Buy. It was perfect. I would have bought it on Amazon if I had of known about it. It is something I just found by accident when I was at Best Buy.

The player is really great and worked flawlessly on the trip. I would recommend it to anyone.

I received my Axion AXN6091 for Christmas 2009. I believe my sister paid less than $100 for this unit at that time. I did enjoy using it and the 9" screen size. Unfortunately it just quit working around month 15. I do not know the planned obsolescence for this type of product, but have an idea it must be around a year, two if you are lucky. I only used mine to play DVDs and used my earbuds for sound. It was just fine for my usage. Since my unit no longer works and at the $149 price, I will purchase the Sony DVP-FX950 this next time.

Fast Delivery. Product looks and plays excellent. This product would be an excellent choice depending on what you like in picture quality. And Customer service is excellent.

Picture has a slight haze around the edge, but looks fine when connected to another monitor. The sound quality of the unit is average. All in all, however, I am pleased with this purchase. I especially like the card slot for pictures from my digital camera.
