I am a avid World War II miniatures collector, and thus have many Axis and Allies sets, including their ground warfare soldiers and vehicles and the War at Sea line. I have been looking intently toward getting involved into WWII air warfare. I already have the Wings of War game, including sets of those miniatures.

As a comparison:
Pros:
- Angels 20 miniatures are 1/100 scale, and much larger than WoW. They are easier to handle, and more durable.
- The Angels 20 system is a better value, for the starter and the boosters.
- The system allows for many types of planes, with more variability and special abilities. The starter includes cards for all 31 planes of the initial set.
- The use of hexes removes the need for movement aids. In WoW, you need a special card deck for each aircraft, which is interesting, but is sometimes a pain to use.
- Angels 20 includes advantages for pilot quality.
- Angels 20 provides much more flexibility to perform maneuvers, and operations at different speeds.

Cons:
- Angels 20 miniatures are not painted as well as the WoW miniatures. Although smaller, the WoW miniatures have high detail and quality.
- The damage system of Angels 20 is comparable to other A&A miniatures games, and is thus quite simplistic. The damage and outcomes are portrayed more realistically in WoW. Pilots can be injured, you may have fire, smoke, rudder damage, etc.
- Angels 20 requires a large hex map, included in the starter. WoW does not need a map.
- Just like other Axis and Allies games, you need lots of dice, and there many dice modifiers and special abilities to count and add up. WoW is diceless, using simultaneous movement and firing, and damage chits drawn in the blind. Angels 20 uses sequential movement and firing.

Awesome Game! We have run 3 sessions so far. Lots of suspense, fun, and realistic feel to the wheeling, diving, climbing plans fighting for positions. Highly recommended.

I used to play AAM and WAS, so I decided to give this game a shot. Overall, the rules a simple and fun, the models are very nice and the variety of them is reasonable. The starter set really does include everything you need for a fun game. The scale of the miniatures is huge, which may annoy some people, but I love the detail. This really is a small scale game on the whole, though, usually a battle involves 2 or 3 aircraft on each side.

It's not bad, but its not really that great. The mini's are pretty basic and not very detailed. They are also really BIG. The game is all based on the cards that represent the mini's on the board. The game play is ok, even with the advanced rules. I played wings of war and that actually plays much better. Anyway I'm not going to really rag on the game but its not as good as I was hoping and I really would have liked it better, even with the game play if the Mini's work cooler.

Annoying. The shipping not only took weeks, but apparently the company couldn't even afford a box and my game was smashed into a padded mailing envelope that had to be cut and taped back together because it wasn't big enough to hold the box. The box was smashed and two of the pieces were missing... luckily, I found them -- they had fallen out into the padded mailer.

Great game. Buy it from someone else.
