2.0 out of 5 stars Warning ** No Return Policy
Buyer beware! This product is sold on Amazon through Tech Depot, and Tech Depot has a NO RETURN POLICY for this camera! If it dosen't work, or you can't make it work on your network, get ready to sell it on eBay.

The Axis 2100 was easy to set-up and configure, but would not peacefully co-exist with other devices our our network.

Amazon should make the NO RETURN...

4.0 out of 5 stars Axis Cameras, October 20, 2000

Axis cameras are currently the best all-around camera for FTPing jpeg images to an ftp server. They are compact, carry their own server, and can be programmed by YOU to do whatever you tell them to do. The problems with these cameras are not in capability or dependability. The company assumes that you are a technically minded person, but their marketting strategy would have you believe that anyone with two or more brain cells clicking at the same time can set up and operate one of their cameras in "no time". Don't be discouraged, though. These cameras are DEPENDABLE once you figure them out. Also, once you get the camera, junk the cheap and fuzzy lens that they give you and buy a good one. There is no alternative for quality here. Sharp pictures are what what you are really after and the lens that it comes with is very disappointing. If you would like to see what a "sharp" lens can do for the Axis camera, take a look at the one on http://www.slocam.com. While the view may be static, it is clear enough for most purposes. THAT is what you want; a clear picture. .... there is much more to tell but it is good to start from here. E-mail me if you want any more info. Marc@slocam.com.

Amazon should make the NO RETURN policies of third party vendors more evident on the item page.

I have owned 1 of these cameras for 5 years and 2 for the past 3. The have been working non stop ever since. I have never had a problem with any of the cameras. They can be slightly complex to set up but once your done, your done! The video quality is excellent. The reliability is great.
