as a previous reviewer mentioned, the remote that arrived is black which for me was a good thing. I was ok with either but would have preferred black anyway.
I have another MediaGate remote that has only one channel learning and this has four (also unlike the product description). to explain - because MediaGate nor the product info on Amazon explains fully - four channels means that you can have four separate remote devices programed, TV, PC, DVD, Cable for example, however, unlike other universal remotes there are no codes to enter to make it magically "know" your other devices, you have to learn each button from the original remotes, but once you learn the key presses to learning mode, it's not too hard. the advantage is that you can mix and match functions of any of your remotes onto one channel should you like. I was disappointed to learn that the "PC" channel that does all the Media Center functions is not programmable at all. this is unlike the one channel version of this remote that allows you to hybrid the entire remote without having to switch back an forth between the channels to control everything. when I replace this remote, I'll look for their one channel learning model (again). works as it should in Windows 7 and the included USB IR receiver is small and easy to hide. corresponding channel label buttons also light up when any button on that channel pressed, which was a nice surprise. again, this is a good review because this is really MediaGate's top remote, but the seller's description is not correct.

So far I'm loving this remote. Worked out the box with my computer and my old USB IR receiver. Works great for my win7 HTPC and my TV. My only complaint is the button layout is a little awkward. The back button should be closer to the directional pad and there shouldn't be two power off buttons at the top. Also, this remote is a bit light for me. Feels like it could break pretty easily. All in all, this remote will control your htpc, TV, DVD player, and surround sound for a lot cheaper than a Harmony remote. But if you're hard on remotes, you might want to look for something a little stronger.

I received a generic remote with a different model number but in a box with a sticker of the model number in the listing covering the correct model number. The remote I received is black, not white and the learning function does not work. It also has to be very close to the receiver to work. Do not waste your money on this remote, you will not get what is described in the listing, just a generic media center remote that is cheaply made. There are better remotes for a lower price available here and after I get the refund for this I will order 1 that has gotten positive reviews from other customers so I know that I will receive what the seller promises.
