definitive recording of new Detroit sound, January 6, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Azimuth (Audio CD)
Detroit has established important trends in popular music for years. In the late eighties Detroit introduced a new sound which became known as Detroit techno. The sound is clean, smooth, with complex rhythms but simple layers. Its strange to think a city so tough and gritty could produce a sound so clean and slick. However, a drive downtown at night with this album providing a soundtrack to the steaming manhole covers and abandoned mansions is eerily appropriate. This album is a great place to begin exploring Detroit's signature sound of the nineties.

This is aural sex. Electronica 90s style. Pure electro heaven. Why is America ignoring such talent?
