Traces the life of this great singer, doubtless the greatest of the tropical music, from her humble beginnings in Cuba to her start in the music bussiness in radio, to her debut with the Sonora Matancera, the longest-living musical group and then to her career as a solo artist in the different radio stations like Radio Progreso, CMQ; cabarets like Tropicana, Sans Souci, Montmartre; in television, her relationship with her husband Pedro Knight, formerly a trumpet player with the Sonora Matancera, her move to the exile with this group, first to Mexico and then New York.
In the Big Apple she became the Queen of Salsa, with greats like Tito Puente, Johnny Pacheco, Fania-Alll Stars. The author delves into all these facets of her life with a lot of information, pictures, first-hand knowledge of Celia and her friends and career, her triumphs all over the world, the love of her fans and traces her illness and finally her death. it's the definite biography of the Queen of Joy.
