We had a black and white monitor that was much bigger and bulkier and cost $100 before taxes. It died and in an effort to save money my wife and I settled for a $20 monitor for sound. We could hear when our baby was moving or would cry out but it didn't give us the peace of mind that we got from the video monitor. I found this one and bought it and now we aren't opening the door to peak in and check on the baby and waking her up earlier than we needed too.

NOT TO MENTION, with the RCA connectors you can watch the monitor on any television that has the red white and yellow video audio connectors, we do this when we're watching TV and we're able to switch to that input if we hear a sound and see what is going on.

I if you are creative enough you can record them with a VCR or DVD recorder. Hope this helps in your buying decision.

This is a wonderful monitor. I bought this after returning several to Babies R Us, this was by far the best one. The picture is clear, hardly ever have interference and the sound is crystal clear. I feel worry free when I can see my daughter and know if I really need to go in or if she is just fussing a little bit at night. I also think the price is affordable compared to the ones they sell at Babies R Us, and better quality too! It is small enough to carry around the house and easy enough to take outside with me as well. I really recommend it!

This is a great product. Very easy to install and the quality of the image and sound is good. The only reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is becuase the colors are not very good. It tends to go toward black and white quite often. But not a big deal, clear image, clear sound and a big screen. Good enough for us.

We got this moniter since it was said to be able to work with electronics. We have found that if you have a cordless phone or a cell phone nearby it screws up the reception. This product is no exception and cannot hold the reception. I returned it because it does not work in my home.

This is the second baby monitor I've owned - the first one being a Graco that got tossed down the stairs by my first born. For my second born, I bought this one from [...], and couldn't have been happier.

I don't know about the "problem with electronics" as I've got wireless routers, laptops, a desktop, three cell phones and assorted random electronics operating the majority of the time, and have had no problem.

I haven't tested the range, but it has worked fine being at opposite ends of my 3-bedroom house, with perfect color, perfect night vision, and excellent sound.

My son is about to turn 1 and we have used this monitor since we was born. We have many wireless electronics in our home- phones, wireless router, cordless phones, xbox360 and PS3 and have not had a any problems. I would reccomend this monitor to anyone who wants the piece of mind that you get from having a video of your baby, not just the sound.

The concept behind this monitor is great. When the portable unit is hooked up to the television in our bedroom, it works wonderfully to see in the nursery. However, we purchased this product two months prior to our daughter being born. After she was born, we hooked up the unit, and after a couple of days the portable unit's screen quit working. It still works great hooked up to the TV, but we purchased it because of it's portability, and it no longer has that capability. Even though we only used the portable unit for a couple of days before it broke, we had purchased it long before we opened it, and now the return/warranty doesn't allow us to return it. Love the monitor when it's hooked up to the TV, but be aware of the possibility of the screen going out on the hand held unit rendering it no longer completely portable.

I bought this because of its practical size, but it has lots of interference.The sound is really poor. In the end andfor the price the product is not that bad, I get to see my son and sometimes I can even hear him.

I received this monitor as a gift for my first baby back in November '08. I'm now on baby #2 & still using it for both kids! There are a few minor flaws with it but it's still a great product. It gets a little staticky sometimes but if you move around it goes away. I also found that if you point the flat "antenna" on the back of the camera towards where you keep the monitor most of the time it's not that big of a deal. I have to keep it plugged in most of the time bc the batteries it came with are finally losing their charge. I plan on buying replacements soon. Sometimes if you have the screen turned off so you can just listen to the sound & try to turn it back on it won't work. I usually turn it on & off a couple of times then the screen comes back. I have found that the color is more like a greyscale color, very rarely does the color actually work but the picture is still great. I love the nightvision, but it doesn't work too good if you have the camera mounted far away. I have my 2 yr old's camera mounted in the corner of his room & when it's dark you can't really see since his bed is on the other side of the room. The feature where you can scan both cameras isn't very good, has alot of static between cameras. Aside from those few flaws...this is the best baby monitor, I've never tried anything else!

This monitor is pretty good for the money. The picture is clear and it's easy to work. Downsides: 1) there's no battery-life gauge on the handset, so all you get is a reddish light for about 5 minutes, then it dies 2) we're in an apartment and someone's crappy cell phone interferes with it. Daily, the signal dies because of it. We had an audio monitor before and we still have to use it because of the interference, but other than the above 2 things, it's worked really well.
