5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful product!!
I bought this product in January 2008 after reading the online reviews and I absolutely love it!! 1.0 out of 5 stars These do not work with a treadmill!
I wish I would have known that these headphones do not work with a treadmill. I was also told they do not work close to a computer due to interferance. Now I have headphones that I don't need due to the return policy being that if you open them you can't return them! I'm sure they are fine for regular tv watchers. Maybe I will give them to my grandma for her birthday...

My husband is thrilled that I'm now watching TV with him again instead of retreating to the study to read, catch up on email, etc. I recently had my 84 yr old mother stay with us for a few weeks. She wears two hi-tech hearing aids that can't be very effective as she continues to blast the TV. When I placed the headphones on her head, her eyes lit up and she said, "Where did you get these? They're wonderful!" I'm now ordering her a set so that she too can enjoy TV.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST PRODUCT I'VE FOUND, February 21, 2009
This review is from: TV777 Wireless Headphone (Electronics)
I am stunned by the negative reviews on this product. We previously had TV Ears; and although the product is good, the ear buds hurt, thus my husband refused to use them; and I continued to listen to a very loud T.V. These ear phones are very light weight, very comfortable, and the audio, tone, volume, etc. are excellent and the audio is stereo. We both suffer from not being able to always distinguish consonants or simply not clearly hearing what is said, which is not a curable problem (there is a medical term for this); and with these ear phones we are both usually able to hear everything that is said. We can even understand some of the rap on T.V. now..lol. I am ordering another set for our lake home. As with any infrared product, you have to be facing the connecting unit; and of course the ear phones take batteries .. don't all things non-electrical, as in cordless, need batteries??? (To the guy who was stunned that they also had to have batteries which were "not" included .. batteries are seldom included in things we buy.) I am 68 and my husband is 70. On a scale of 1-10, these are a 10+.

I have used another type of headphone, TV listening device, but this is a much better one for me. The ear pieces are relatively comfortable, although they get a bit hot in warm weather. I would prefer not having the bridge over the top of my head, but again, the comfort of the earpieces overrides that. These seem to be a good 'fit' for my comfort and listening. The best part of this item is that I can hear the TV and my husband doesn't have to tell me to turn down the volume!

5.0 out of 5 stars NOW MY HUSBAND CAN LIVE!, January 13, 2008
This review is from: TV777 Wireless Headphone (Electronics)
I bought this item for my husband for X-mas because he loves to ride the volume to the TV in our bedroom way too loud. I sleep with no noise and pitch black room and he likes to sleep with the TV on. This item is the perfect solution cuz now my husband can live through the rest of his years....lol...Now he can mute the volume and put the headsets on and I can sleep a little better now.

Now you do have to have the transmitter in range in order to get good sound but that was no biggie. You can't walk around the house with the headphones and listen to TV if you aren't in range of the transmitter but that doesn't matter cuz I have TIVO...

An extra headset is not that expensive and I am going to get another set for the living room for my daughter who complains that we are too loud when she wants to watch TV

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE AND DON'T FORGET TO GET ANOTHER PAIR OF HEADSETS FOR OTHERS TOO.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Set of Ear phones, January 21, 2011
This review is from: TV777 Wireless Headphone (Electronics)
I recently replaced my Sony 36" Wega with a Panasonic Plasma 50". The Sony came equipped with its own integrated set of Stereo Infra-Red Headphones which performed very well. I needed now to obtain a similar set of headphones for the Panasonic, and looking over the very limited offering of Infra-Red units I selected the Unisar (is sold under the name Bebe also) based on the writeup and the attractive price. One competitive infra-red headphone set (heavily advertised and found in most stores including Costco) costs two to three times as much and they are most uncomfortable as they project into your ears. Don't bother even considering these as they are a complete waste of time. I don't know that the alternative radio frequency headphones are all that bad for you but I figure why subject your brain to it if you don't have to. I sent the first set of Unisar back due to what I thought was a defect of some kind -in short I couldn't get them to work. The second set was much the same and I was about to give up and send that back when I discovered that the placement of the infra-red transmitter was critical to proper operation. I had in both cases placed it on the low (18" off the floor) TV stand and the headphones just could not receive the IR signal from that impossibly shallow angle. I raised the transmitter to the height of the TV (about 50" off the floor) and that did it. I can't say enough good things about the headphones -the performance is every bit as good as the Sony set and yet more comfortable to wear. The reception is clear with no static and maybe a minor occasional hum but that can be cured with a slight movement of the head. To sum up, the quality, performance and price of this unit just cannot be beat. Buy this set and you will not be disappointed. By the way, the placement of the transmitter is clearly explained in the instructions -a lesson here for those of us who think we a too smart technically to bother with instructions. People who complain about these earphones just need to experiment in the placing of the transmitter to get proper reception it should be placed approximately at the same height as the headphones or a bit higher. Forget about microphone setups -if you don't have audio outputs on your TV don't bother with this. I have been using these earphones for over three years now and never a problem. I have since set four other people up with these headphones and all have no complaints. Get 4 Energizer Rechargeable AAA batteries if you want to save on batteries but really, a set of regular AAA batteries (Energizer or Duracell) will last more than three weeks unless you watch TV 24 hrs a day. Finally, you can get via E-Bay/Paypal a bag of 6 replacement earpiece covers (better than the originals) from Hong Kong in less than two weeks for the princely sum of less than $3.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fix the Hiss and Enjoy, November 12, 2010
By
This review is from: TV777 Wireless Headphone (Electronics)
My initial experience with these headphones was disappointment. I heard an annoying his no matter where I sat or how I adjusted the transmitter height. This problem also occurs with competing devices, based on the reviews I've read. It isn't unique to TV Listener. I called tech support and they said interference was the culprit. I was told to plug the power cord into a surge suppressed outlet. It was - that wasn't the cause. And, cordless phones and radio type electronics shouldn't affect it since it operates on infrared.

Here's what I did to fix the hiss. I moved the transmitter to the other side of the TV where the power and audio cables crossed fewer other cables. Behind the TV, I have cables for a Dish Network box, Vizio Sound Bar, and DVD. Fewer crossed cables and plugging the device into another outlet, eliminated the hiss. So, before you give up, give this simple fix a try.

The headset is a bit snug on my head and feels warm after a short time. It's not what I'd call comfortable but not terrible. Is any full ear headset comfy? None that I've owned. Maybe it would be unpleasant after two hours but, for a one hour tv program, it's fine.

The product installation is easy and the controls are simple and effective. Overall, this product is worth the money.

Needed wireless headphones that worked for both home and for the car. This made it challenging as there is no real information on whether home systems work with car systems. After days of research and reading hundreds of reviews I decided to go with the TV listener. It was affordable and the specs, 2.3 and 2.8 Ghz frequencies, implied that it would work with mainstream car audio systems like Toyota, Doge, Pyle and RCA.

The results. It does work with standard car headphones. In our caravan, we run a laptop that plugs into the Unisar system. We have an inverter to plug everything into and it is great to not have wires and not have to listen to the movie while the kids watch.

At home, it works like a charm. Even next to a wireless laptop, which I feared would cause interference. The range is good and unless you want THX through your headphones, the sound quality is good enough for most TV/DVD applications. I would still go with surround sound speakers for the big productions, but for private viewing and late night shows, this is great.

For those of you familiar with the Bebe Sounds company, this is the same product.
