Great quality, unforgettable performance!

Ceramic is harder to sharpen but its edge will last longer and i will most likely be using the diamond sharpener.

The knife is extremely sharp and very light.

While I don't collect knives, they definitely interest me. A good friend tipped me off to this Boker, which I'd seen in a shop, previously.

First, the ceramic blade makes razors look dull. It's lightweight...very light for its size. Plus, the pivot is smooth, and the tension light enough, it's quite easy to wrist-flip the blade out, one-handed, if you like.

I do kinda wish the clip were either screwed on, which is impractical but the best of both worlds, or there were a version available without it. There is another review here which mentions stainless-steel used instead of say, titanium. This is all about cost. I have quite a bit of titanium in me, and any metal detectors made in the past 20 years sounds on me, even if I walked through one, naked. Of course, the sensitivity is adjustable on these machines, so they're all just a bit different in behavior.

I like this knife so much, I surprised said good friend, above, who tipped me about it initially, for his birthday by sending one to him, unannounced. He's quite happy with it, and he has collected knives for decades.

Edit:

I almost forgot. The blade on this instrument is dark gray, and very polished. It's extrememly nice-looking, and the carbon-fibre handle isn't over-the-top showy carbon-fibre, but nicely done. Low-key, like it should be. The pics don't show the true color of the blade. It's very similar to the one pictured here:

[...]

The blades may be identical, in fact, with the handle being the only true difference.

Overall: The knife is very sharp and light and a good every day carry. I like how it can hold its edge.

Two weeks after receiving the knife the pocket clip came off. I still have not figured out how I am going to secure it back on. This is frustrating because I don't like carrying it around in my pocket, and one of the main reasons I got one with a pocket clip.

Besides the pocket clip coming off it is a decent knife for the price. I just wish I could use the pocket clip again.

While a good knife, its construction is fragile. While in my pocket, the clip got caught on something and stretched out. This could have happened to any clip granted, but trying to fix it is where this knife failed. Firstly, the tiny hex star bolts that hold the clip on are threaded directly into the carbon handle (no steel inserts or anything) and when trying to remove them, they stripped and pulled out rendering the clip unusable. Because the knife is somewhat loose and insecure when closed, I don't feel comfortable having it in my pocket floating around without the clip.

The blade is sharp, and overall this knife is remarkably light weight which is why I was so excited for it. I got about 3 or 4 months of good use out of it before my clip conundrum, and perhaps would have had more if that wouldn't have happened. While still usable, I cannot carry it around as I have daily which is unfortunate. It's a good knife with less than quality overall construction regarding the way the clip is mounted to the handle which really is too bad. For the price, the bolts should be fixed into inserts, and not directly threaded into the low quality carbon fiber handle. I say low quality because I work with T700 series carbon which is build for structural integrity (aircraft grade) and for this application, it is unnecessary, but because it is lower quality, prepreg layered carbon, it should be accounted for in the manufacturing process regarding anything being tapped directly into it.

I give this thing 5 stars, If you're any type collector or just the guy who always carry a knife...get this. You won't regret it. It's light, sharp, carbon fiber handle...it's just cool.
I even had a when I asked if he sold ceramic folding knives. He said no and went into his sh-piel about why he wouldn't carry a ceramic knife...all the things people say when they haven't experienced it for themselves, but "heard". I pulled this one out and let's just say, his body language contradicted his previous statements about the downside of ceramic. He looked like a kid at Christmas He called over his adult son too - he started molesting my knife too! The black glossy finish of the blade was deceiving...they thought it had metal in it. These guys couldn't stop ogling it. Oh yeah, the whole ceramic brittle theory was put to the test - accidentally just before this whole incident. My buddy was handling the knife as we walked up and when he went to hand it back to me, i accidentally knocked it out of his hand...it fell...in slow motion....it fell...over four feet....clank clank clank....hit the asphalt pavement. I swear...it was like the scene from Christmas Story where Ralphie lost the lug nuts in the snow...I wasn't sure if the blade was going to be chipped, cracked, or just broken in two pieces. I picked up the knife and guess what...where's Borat..."Great success!". It held up. Not even the handle sustained damage. So there it is.

Of course, if you buy this type of blade, hopefully YOU KNOW IT IS NOT A PRY TOOL. I have a Schrade 10 for tougher jobs! :-) but for cutting needs, this has made quick work of several boxes already.

I had seen Boker German steel kitchen knives before and they looked ok. I say bravo Boker...or should it be Danka shan!
