I really wanted to like this knife. I mean really, I did. It looks cool. The fit and finish on mine was good. It took a keen edge.

As for function.... well it passes the basic knife test, meaning it cuts stuff. Problem is the angle of the handle, with the angle of the blade makes if hard to cut stuff that's on a surface. Your knuckles will scrape if you try to use the full length of the blade. My index finger gets rubbed a little raw by the back of the blade (functions as a guard). The jimping on the back of the blade is very smooth and does not provide a super secure perch for you thumb. The handle is a love or hate thing. It gives you the opportunity to learn some new knife holds. Or it's just annoying.

The sheath looks good, but it's very hard to put the knife back in. The mouth is too soft and hangs up on the handle. Plus it's not what you would call quality.

Over all, I'd buy it again. Hoping I can find a niche for this little fellow.

This is a great little knife. It feels pretty good in hand, and I wear extra large gloves. Also, it comes extremely sharp. I mean SHARP! Therefor you'll want to be more careful than I was when you start getting the feel of this knife. I was turning this in my hand, just learning how it handled, when I curled my thumb toward my palm at the wrong time. That little point at the heel of the blade? It just unzipped the tip of my thumb. The fact that it didn't hurt a bit might tell you how sharp it is.

That said... The knife gets five stars, partially because it reminded me that knives can be dangerous, but the sheath could definitely be better. The knife just came yesterday so I've been pulling out, turning it in my hands (carefully now) and putting it back. No work but a little paper cutting, and I've noticed a marked decrease in sharpness. The only thing this 440C blade has been touching that could dull it is the sheath. I think the sheath will quit this eventually once it's broken in, and the blade has tenderized the leather inside. I'll try to remember to update this review if I find this to be true.

All things being equal, I give five stars because I bought the knife. The sheath was just an extra.

The knife is excellent. It's substantially better than I was expecting. It's very small, but the perfect size for a skinner to piggyback on my survival knife.

As was mentioned, the sheath is absolutely terrible. It got thrown in the trash within minutes. A kydex sheath would have been much more fitting, but at the price point where they are selling the knife it would have been worth the money with no sheath at all.

I bought this knife just a short while ago and it arrived yesterday. Since then, I've done some small paper and cardboard cutting to test the edge as well as opening the mail and such. The overall length is short, which I knew it would be, but it's even shorter than I expected. It ends up not being too uncomfortable for light cutting tasks, but it's still the shortest fixed-blade I've got and I've got ~40-50 knives at this point. I think the steel is a bit softer than I would ideally like, the edge retention isn't so great. It's an interesting short knife, but the steel and like others have said, the piss-poor sheath, make this a rather sorryful knife. It does look neat though, the scales are interesting and the knife shape too. If a little better steel was used, I'd be rather happy with this overall, even despite the sheath.

This Boker Plus Rambler knife, out of the box was "scary" sharp.
This would be a great knife to hang around your neck if you can find or make a nice sheath for that orientation.
The sheath that came with the knife, although serviceable, is nothing to write home about. The sheath, out of the box, was completely dried out to the point that the leather started to show some cracking, I had to completely soak the sheath in leather oil in a seal-able sandwich baggie near a heat source for almost a week to rehydrate it.

Great knife handle is small and you only get 3 fingers on it but you can hold it fairly well. I added a lanyard to it to help get it out of the holster and give extra grip while holding it.
