Product does not include everything promised or pictured,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Börner Thin Julienne Vegetable Slicer (Kitchen)
The product description states: "Features finger grips and non-skid feet."
The safety grip shown in the illustration does NOT come with the shredder and must be purchased separately. Nor is there any other finger grip. The shredder does NOT have non-slip feet. I was not happy about these discrepancies. It does cut a nice julienne. I kept it, but it is dangerous to use without some sort of hand grip. So I ended up paying an extra $7 for the hand grip. Not happy, not pleased with this brand, and will replace this product as soon as Kuhn Rikon comes out with something comparable.

Picture is deceptive!,
This review is from: Börner Thin Julienne Vegetable Slicer (Kitchen)
The picture shown describing the item is deceptive. I was under the impression that the holder was included in the price but when I recieved the package, NO HOLDER. The slicer is o.k. but oh so difficult to use if you don't have the holder. I would not recommend purchasing this product without the holder...you could lose control and slice you fingers instead.

Disappointed,
By DenaliDar "wolfing around" (Gainesville, FL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Börner Thin Julienne Vegetable Slicer (Kitchen)
The shredder is basically a series of cool sharp-shredding blades imbedded in a very major piece of plastic, NOT worth the pricetag in my opinion. I did buy the safety holder and used it once. I haven't used it since, now I simply pay attention to when I am nearing the end of a veggie's stem, common sense. My friend, however, cut her finger while shredding a carrot for me as a first time user. I've forbidden her to use it again and warn others to not use this product unless you are 40 or over. Meanwhile, it cuts a mean carrot, but gets the shreddings on just about everything in a 12-inch radius, including the counter, on the toaster oven, and on the wall. It's a pain to clean, requiring additional safety awareness, but in the end has made shredding veggies an event not to be missed. (This review is meant to be slightly funny so you can smile now. It's OK!)
