In few words, a great summary of one of the great bombers of WW-2. This book explains, depicts and glorifies the plane and its crews from WW-2 to Korea. A perfect gift for B-29 fans!

This review is from: B-29 Photo Combat Diary: The Superfortress in WWII and Korea (Paperback)
This is the Dedication Boot who had flown over Japanese sky(WWII)

and Koream sky( Korean War) !

Visualized many important Pictures and Histortoes which associated

with their many glorious, crucial, miraclesurvivals and agonizing

prayer for Lost their Lives ! I like include their remaining Families !

I like add very important Epoches duing wwII and Korean War !

During WWII,full-scaled B-29 bombing starteed from striking bombing

from Saipan, one of the main Mariana islands from mid Oct,1944.over

the Japnese sky. I think, they can not forget high, snow mounted, beautiful

Mt.Fugi which always be land mark of bombing.

At first, high flying(more tnan 7,500m),Raider bombing without satistory

results."Ramming"attck already started at that time.

then bombing tachtic changed to Low flying(1500~1800m),night bombig

using Incendiary bombs,with increased result.

Incredibly, large scaled night incedenary booming, Tokyo,Osaka,Nagoya and

Kobe resulted total destructions in fire ! Full scaleed, structual

incedenary bombing all over the Japan were carried out.

Horrible Atomic bombiing at Hirosima(6,aug,1945)and Nagasaki(8,aug,1945)

end with VJ-DAY on15,Aug,1945 !

I,Young Ki MOON,a Eyewitness of 1st B-29 bombing action on Seoul train station on 27,June,1950 in Korean War!

Immediate B-29'S actionwas tactical bombing was retard marching speed of

invading Noth Korean Army.they bombed low level flight bombing to

military personel, rail road, bridges, ammunition depot etc.

98 B-29 bombers bomring to advanshing N.korean armies at Waegwn,

Pusan perimeter was long lived memorable event.

Then, they changed to stsagic bombing all over the Noth Korea especially

at Ptyongyang and Yalu River briges to reduce Chinese army and their

equipments.

After, first apperance of untouchable MIG-15 appering,Nov,1,1950,

Loss of B-29 from MIG-15 worrysome anxiety increased day by day.

On 23,Tuesday,Oct,1951,dramatic"Black Tuesday"--unthinkable number of

B-29 losses by suprise MIG-15 attck developed.

Adding to this, Russaian deeply involved Rader operated AAA and Rader

operated searchlight.

B-29 changed to night bombing, painted black colour of underbelly,

including escorted mission by F3D,and F-94B night fighter.

Lot flying tactical boming added to strategic boming had continued

until Armistice on Monday,27,July,1953 !

3.0 out of 5 stars The photos are so small, October 11, 2000

This review is from: B-29 Photo Combat Diary: The Superfortress in WWII and Korea (Paperback)
The photos in this photo diary is quite small - usually put three in half page, and the text is so big for those small photos. -> It not so comfortable to read a book in this layout.

Also, most photos are not sharp.
