My daughter is ten months old, and she has been enjoying Bob Marley's music since the van ride home from the hospital after her birth. She has heard all the songs on this CD numerous times in their original forms, and she loves to dance around with Mommy and Daddy to them. When I put this CD in the player the day we got it, she squeeled with delight, and immediately started bouncing up and down, wanting to be danced around. She is ecstatic about "B is for Bob", and so am I. It introduces a brand new generation to this wonderful music in a great way, and for older fans, these new mixes are a completely new way to hear some of your old favorites! The reworking of "Jammin'" has got to be my favorite on this CD by far...the drum-circle vibe of it is just phenomenal.
This was done with much respect to the original material, by none other than Bob's oldest son, Ziggy. He put a lot of care into reworking his father's songs, and that love shines on this CD. Ziggy has said he wanted it to seem as if Bob was there singing right to the listener - he succeeded! The vocals are right out front on most tracks, sounding as if Bob Marley is actually singing right next to you! Awesome! This CD is a fun way to get your kids into something other than the formulaic top 40 pop that inundates the airwaves these days, and teach them what good music is all about. Ziggy has ensured with this release that his father's musical legacy will continue well after even he has passed from this life. I am going to purchase a copy of this for every kid under ten that I know!

For some, this may look like just another Bob Marley & The Wailers compilation, but for the fans, it's a record that contain new remixes. Amazon omitted to write the complete titles of the songs. Here are the real titles:THREE LITTLE BIRDS (2009 remix), REDEMPTION SONG (2009 mix), WAKE UP AND LIVE Pt.1 (regular song, from 1979), BEND DOWN LOW (2009 remix), LIVELY UP YOURSELF (regular song, from 1974), JAMMING (2009 remix), SMALL AXE (2009 remix), ONE LOVE/PEOPLE GET READY (regular from 1977), SATISFY MY SOUL (2009 remix), COULD YOU BE LOVED (regular, from 1980), STIR IT UP (2009 remix), HIGH TIDE OR LOW TIDE (2009 mix). The most interesting thing is that an alternate take was used for SATISFY MY SOUL. My favorite remix on this CD is JAMMING.

The family already loves Bob Marley so we were excited to hear some "reimaginings" of these songs. Sadly, only three or four songs are "new" versions, with minor changes to the originals, Jamming and Small Axe...
Otherwise, the songs are the original versions we've heard on the original albums, perhaps with MINOR changes.
I'm not complaining because all Bob songs are wailing, but I was expecting new musicians and more kid-friendly versions, as advertised.
Tuff-Gong has done a good job at remarketing their only seller, the king, Bob Marley.
Just listen to his original work.

I love Bob Marley and appreciate every bit of his genius. I also enjoy the talents of Ziggy Marley, however, I expected somehow that this cd was especially geared toward children. It was just a handful of Bob's songs put on a "cd for kids".

I heard an interview ziggy did about this cd, and it rang so true! he said that he wanted this cd to sound like it was just bob singing to you--no tracks, no big backround sound. it is really a great angle on music we have loved for many years. clean, simple, honest, straightforward--like it was just you and bob! a very nice treatment of bobs music.....and i dont even have any kids!

My 4 month old and I are both in LOVE with B is for Bob! Actually, my husband is too for that matter! Great sounds, great messages. The music really relaxes my little guy and it's not like a little kids CD that gets on your nerves one song in. We listen to the CD on roadtrips because it's comforting for our son and yet...IT'S BOB MARLEY! I don't feel like I'm losing my mind in butterflies and rainbows and dancing ponies when we listen to this CD. I also allowed my 3-4 year old students listen to this CD as a treat. They absolutely love "Three Little Birds" and I catch them singing it to themselves throughout the day!

Love the Cd. I will always love Bob 4ever! The way they remixed the songs and added children singing is beautiful! It is just amazing how Bob has been gone for years now but the CD sounds like he just was in the studio making it yesterday. I love everything about the CD but I do have 1 song choice that I would have preferred not be on the Children's album, "Wake up and Live" I do love this song a lot but I just don't like when he says "tomorrow you will be buried in a casket". Not fun to sing along with children but I understand how powerful this song is and meaning..... The drums on Jammin' are incredible as always. IF YOU LIKE THIS ALBUM MAKE SURE TO GO OUT AND GET ZIGGY MARLEY FAMILY TIME CD! Love, Love, Love this CD!!!!!!!

I love Bob Marley so got this for my little boy, saw it on Sprout,but the songs are not really that much different. Still good though!

It's nice to have a new Bob Marley compilation on the market. And good remixes of Bob's tunes are always welcome. The remixes of Bend down low , Small axe, and Stir it up are maybe a bit too clean, putting Bob in the middle of the road. But, ok, it's supposed to be a kids compilation isn't it ? And the other remixes are very welcome and tasty. Good to have an unplugged version of Three little byrds. Great to have an alternate version of Satisfy my soul. And the bongo version of Jamming is a keeper ! Overall, it's a fun listen. Thanks to Ziggy for offering it ! My sons and I will enjoy.

Our whole family is enjoying this CD! We haven't stopped listening to it since we got it! Thank you Bob Marley for this wonderful music that little ones and big ones enjoy equally!
