Barbara D. is a queen of the Hammond B-3 organ. Who would imagine that a German girl of her generation would become such a jazz organ master? She revitalizes this selection of classic standards with her prodigious technique. The drummer is powerful and solid, the guitarist gets in some nice solos, but Barbara's phenomenal keyboard work elevates these tunes to a whole new level. She smokes, burns, simmers & cooks up a tasty mainstream jazz feast.

In my Gulda's "Mozart no End" review I commented about this excellent organist.
In that DVD you can see Barbara playing live. -------------- This CD should be cheaper, but despite its cost, the important point is that the music is great. Barbara is a master organist. |
