5.0 out of 5 stars this book rocks
If you are looking for a serious book to learn the craft of acting, there are plenty of those in the library.
If you are looking for the most unique look at b-movie making available as told by the people who know the most, buy this book!
It's quick, funny, and gives you an insight that you cannot find elsewhere.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Cool Little Book To Have On Your Table
Filled with tips on how to survive a b-movie, this book is pretty well a showpiece for your living room when friends come over.

It contains pieces like 'As A General Rule...Don't Do Anything That Opens A Portal To Hell!'

A fun little book with small sections devoted to filmakers and stars that talk about their experiences, Lloyd Kaufman and Gunnar Hansen are...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun with Fright, June 30, 2000

To find the true measure of this tongue-in-cheek horror movie book, put it on your coffee table and use it to compare notes while watching a monster/horror flick. This thing is dead-on...and funny! The hilarious intro, written by drive-in movie expert Joe Bob Briggs, is worth the price of the book. You can easily use B-Movie Survival Guide to set up beer drinking games while yelling at the screen. (example -- drink a beer every time someone opens the cellar door.) Killer (no pun intended) illustrations, too.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not really a book for b-movie fans, just eye candy, June 13, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The B-Movie Survival Guide (Paperback)
I am an avid b-movie fan, so the title alone attracted me, yet when I cracked it open, I was sadly disapointed. It is more of a picture book, then an actual guide. There's more text in a coloring book. The annecdotes by b-movie personalities would have excited me if there were more than 3 or 4 that were known personalities. most were micro-budget filmmakers, that most people have never heard of. Finally, it's hard to recommend a book with typos all over the place. What an unprofessional job.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Humor, August 27, 2002

I enjoyed the book. Reading it was like watching a b-horror movie with your smart alex friend who loves to give timely sarcastic comments. It was light hearted, fun humor and the comments from the movie insiders were revealing and funny.

I totally enjoyed this book. I thought the cartoons were fun, the jokes are cute and the celebrity stories added a lot. People always pick it up off my coffee table and say how clever it is, so for that alone it was worth purchasing. Be cool buy this book!
