Yes you can find it cheaper at Target. In fact this came straight from Target and repacked to us. Not a big deal considering the noise this bad boy can make in the hands of a Tiny overlord known as your spawn. They will spend hours banging on the drum. YOu will self medicate with Advil and bourbon. A win win for all.

This is a very good set, just got it for my 10 month-old. Some things are still new to her like drumsticks, but she loves shaker eggs and tambourine. I am sure she'll grow into other things as well. In one word, by all means get it but look in Target first. I saw some review claiming that in Target this is sold for much cheaper and indeed found it there for 19.99 only. This would also make a great gift, it's packaged so nicely with a gift card already and funny little book with baby sayings. I love it.

I bought this for a grandchild and she loves it. It is hard to find musical toys for someone who is around 12 months old. This is the only one were the sticks looked safer than most. The pieces are large so cannot be swallowed which is great. It has held up amazingly well. No breakage at all. She has fun when her cousins visit because their are pieces for all of them to play with. Her gradfather and I like playing with it with her too.
I would recommend this toy highly.

I really debated between 4 stars and 3 stars for this. Wish I could give 3.5. This is a great idea for a toy. It was given to my son as a gift for his first birthday and he is now 2.5 and still plays with elements of it occasionally. The reason I can't rate it as highly as some other reviewers is (a) the "drum" itself is incredibly disappointing and is nothing like a drum and (b) the drumsticks clearly aren't designed with kids in mind. At least not my kid.

The drum surface is merely a sheet of plastic and makes no drum-like noises at all. It also breaks easily. Beating on an empty shoebox provides more of a drum noise than this drum does.

The drumsticks are hard plastic with large heads. I wish they had foam heads or something more forgiving because these things really hurt if you get hit by a wild swing. Perhaps with a softer head on the drumsticks the drum surface wouldn't break so easily. My son has hit himself in the head with these things many times while performing a particularly rigorous drum solo and they definitely leave a mark. A younger child with less arm strength might not have the same problems we've had but even my 9 month daughter has hit herself and made herself cry. Since the drum surface is so ineffective a foam drumstick head wouldn't affect the sound quality at all.

3 stars may be a little harsh for only these 2 criticisms but it's so darn cute and I had such high expectations for it and I guess I feel pretty let down.

I've seen this at Target for $20...it's worth $20, not more. My 16 mo old loves it and I love that it is teaching him cause and effect and helps him with his motor skills.

My 10-month-old received this set for Christmas and she loves it! Her favorite part is the egg shakers, and can often be found with one in each hand, shaking them and banging them together. She likes using the drumsticks, but usually is drumming on things other than the drum, but that's okay with me! (And, yes, she puts them in her mouth, but they are removed from her if she's standing with them.)

I love that the set is brightly colored without being primary, it has minimal packaging, and the instruments fit inside the drum with room for more. A minor complaint is that the bee's wings don't really clack, but I'm sure the elastic will loosen a bit with more use. I can't comment on its longevity in our house, but we had the same set in a two-year-old classroom when I was teaching, and it seemed to hold up quite well.

As others have commented, this retails for $19.99 at Target, which is the cheapest I've seen it priced.

We bought this for our son's first birthday from Target for $23.00. I do not see any of the parts of this toy as a choking hazard. Our son loves the cute instrument toys. He will carry the caterpillar drum sticks around the house with him. We love that the drum doubles as a carrying case! You can fit all of the instruments inside with plenty room for more. We are very satisfied with all of the B. products we have purchased. It is nice to see our son show prolonged interest in his toys for once! All of the instruments seem extremely durable. The only reason I have rated the durability 4 stars instead of 5 is the top of the drum scratches and obtains marks easily. Other than that, this is one of the best purchases we have ever made for our son!

I have an over-sized tough little 20 month old and she absolutely loves this set! Best purchase by far thanks to her Papa. I've read complaints about it being "hazardous", "flimsy", and "too distracting". Simple fact of the matter is that you have to teach your child how to play. You can't expect to give them two sticks and they're going to automatically know how to handle them or how to use them. And the tambourine is not "sharp" lol. Also, how can anyone complain about the color of a children's toy being distracting?! They're supposed to be colorful to gain attention and keep it. That's part of the educational process. My child can't speak but if I tell her to go drum, she does. If I say play the tambourine, she does. It's learned behavior. And she is a tough kid. I mean TOUGH. So her toys take a beating and these stand up. The only thing I would agree to is that the top of the drum does not connect...though that was kind of obvious seeing as the other toys are contained in it. Simple fix...super glue. VOILA!
