This cd is GREAT. There is not one single song that I skip thru. You have to hear Juanito the Bandito. Its really funny. And it shows that Adam is a really talented musician as well as singer/songwriter. Beat My Guest is one of my all time favorite songs. I am buying this cd for everyone I know.

This cd starts out with a bang with a song called "Fall In" and it just dosen't let up. I think alot of people have the idea that "B-Sides" means "Not so great". Well, take it from me, this is NOT THE CASE on this cd. I literally can't get enough of it. This is a very special collection of songs that were WAY ahead of its time. If you played most of these songs for someone, and didn't tell them who it was, they would think it was a brand new song. Beat My Guest is just the best dang song. No wonder it has been covered as many times as it has. Nine Inch Nails covered "Physical" and "Redscab" two songs on this cd. Human Bondage Den is one of the greatest songs ever written. And let me tell you Mr "Goody Two Shoes" was NO Goody Two Shoes at all. He was a dirty boy! Heh heh! And I couldn't possibly love him anymore then I do. And you will too when you get this gem of a cd.

Like Antics. Sure that was good, if you want all the mainstream stuff they played on the radio on one cd. Or if you want an intro compliation! But B-Side Babies shows the true grit of Adam! So many people have the idea he is a "pop star", this one hit wonder; Goody Two Shoes and America's mainstream ideals made that assumption. That's why people who haven't even heard Dirk Wears White Sox might find this to be unfamilar Ant territory. His risque and out of the box lyrics are filled with intelligence and humor. Things to think about. He is a musician not just a singer and a showman. The lyrics, the melodies... all perfection. If you want to know the real Adam Ant. You want something you can listen to and sing to the whole way through, this is it. This to me is essential Adam.

Ant Fans...this is a good intro,

Firstly to the chap in Virginia, Dirk....has none of these tracks. But, seek it out and let it grow on you "Day I met God" and "Cleopatra" are particularly good. The point is this album shows another side of AA, namely the uncommercial artist and lets be fair most of these B-sides were taken of the singles when he was at his hieght i.e. Kings of the wild Frontier, Goody Two Shoes, Prince Charming. I would like to end my comment by adding that anyone new to Adam should first check out Kings.....AND DO US ALL A FAVOUR!!!!...

Questions for avid Ants fans,

I have been searching for the British version of "Dirk Wears White Sox" for about 13 years now. I was wondering if anyone who has listened to this knows if any of these songs were on that album that I heard in college on a friend's tape.

I love anything this guy puts out. I was especially happy receiving this CD as there were many items I had not previously heard. What I would like to know is where did his album "Persuasion" ever end up? I saw him in concert back in 1995 promoting this album but it was never released. It was awesome music. Kind of like NIN meets Adam Ant. Hope to see it someday or find out why not...

B-sides - WHY??,

This review is from: B-Side Babies (Audio CD)
It is pretty bad when music that is released s b-sides (typically considered throw-aways) ends up being in ways some of the best stuff out. Back in the 80's, I used to special order all of the singles from overseas i order to acquire some of these b-sides (back in the vinyl days). Then, I recall running across a copy of this back shortly after it came out and was thrilled to see all of these classics finally on a CD together. Once I popped it in....wowzers....memories of songs lost for years to me...and what a good time these songs bring.
Then, a few years ago when they remastered and reissued all of Adam's early catalog, with bonus tracks, I thought for sure that the b-sides would be there and would make this release obsolete, but NO!! They filled the reissues with single and demo versions (which was so great). So, this release is still a MUST have!! This is a whole CD - 16 tracks - worth of amazing work. Question: When will THIS be remastered and reissued with bonus tracks?!? It appears to be out of print already, so if you like Ant music, do NOT let this one escape your notice.
