Boring. Tepid. Kane Hodder?,
By Tim Brough "author and music buff" (Springfield, PA United States) - See all my reviews (TOP 1000 REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE)
This review is from: B.T.K. (DVD)
I watched this for two reasons, the first being Kane Hodder. He does really well with the creepy type role that Dennis Rader (aka BTK) would offer. I also enjoy True Crime types of movies, and BTK would make a good blueprint for one. But this film misses the mark by a Witchita mile. While Kane is great as the self-absorbed, megalomanic Rader, "BTK" is a murder movie with a characther based somewhat on BTK.
Instead of using the actual case as the basis for this movie, the movie bases itself on a serial killer, then uses bits from a case. Hodder just seems to pick his victims at random, while Rader methodically stalked them and planned his attacks. Events seem to be made up from whole cloth, like kidnapping a girl off the street and then letting a small child in the van as the victim lay bleeding in the back. Rader was never that impetuous, and a study of why/how he became this sociopath would have been interesting. "BTK" is not that movie. It is also likely not going to be the last BTK movie, either. One extra star for Hodder, but that's it.

Worst Acting across the board in quite awhile...,

This review is from: B.T.K. (DVD)
I have read the two reviews posted... I have no idea who gave this movie 4 stars... the producer? The writer? The actors? The other review was harsh but difficult to argue with. While I do not know the exact events and cannot speak to accuracy, this movie is just plain bad... Very poor acting, and I mean VERY poor acting. This movie is only entertaining in the area of learing what the BTK killer did and how although, as previously stated, I have no idea how accurate these aspects were stated in the movie. I would suggest spending two hours on the internet researching the BTK killer as opposd to suffering through this movie.

This movie sucks,

I can't express how disappointed I am with this movie. It is inaccurate, and in my opinion, another hollywood flop in the serial killer genre. I've read quite a bit about BTK and this movie omits the beginning of his career as a serial killer. The movie starts way after the original killings that occured in the 70's, and doesn't touch on his days at ADT or his beginnings. The acting is horrible, and the star protraying b.t.k. is hard to look at because of his neck and how odd he looks. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
