The Triple Crown of White's Fictional Work,
By Todd Ebert (Long Beach California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Three Beloved Classics by E.B. White: Charlotte's Web, Stuart Little, and The Trumpet of the Swan (Boxed Set) (Hardcover)
My 6-year-old daughter and I throughly enjoyed all three stories. Most Creative Story: The "Trumpet Swan" because of the way White takes the reader to different places and settings through the eyes of Louis the Swan. Most Profound Story: "Charlotte's web". Of all my years of education it took this simple book to grasp a real appreciation of nature and the web of life. Funniest Story: "Stuart Little". Most of us have on more than one occassion laughed ourselves to tears upon reading, hearing, or watching some funny event. My last time occurred when reading about the trials and tribulations that Stuart had to endure in order to wash himslef in the morning (Picturing him swinging a mallot to turn on the hot water was for me hysterically funny!). I found the Stuart Little of this book much more cute and amusing than the one in a recent movie with the same title.

The Trumpet Review,
By A Customer
This review is from: E.B. White: Charlotte's Web/ Stuart Little/ Trumpet of the Swan (Hardcover)
After Sam Beaver stumbles apon a lake and Louis the swan is hatched, the adventure begins. Louis was born without a voice but that didn't stop him from going to school, getting a trumpet, saving a life, recieving $4,000.00 from playing his trumpet, and getting a slate. On his adventure Louis get's a mate, goes to the Ritz, and just makes it through his swan life.I thought this was a facinating book with fun facts and rich language. It is completely enjoyable and will make you laugh and cry. Out of all of E.B White's books I read, this has to be #1. I recomend this book to anyone who likes romance and animals. 8-12 year olds will expecially love this book with it's humor and many other qualities.

The best part of this book was when the sail boat race took place. I liked that part because the policeman fell in the water. Also, I liked being able to see the world through a mouse's eyes. Margalo is a great character in the book because she is smart and she helped Stuart. I am looking forward to reading another book by E.B. White, such as Charlotte's Web and the Trumpet of the Swan.

Charlotte's Web/Stuart Little,
By Colleen Lim Tai Siew (Singapore) - See all my reviews
This review is from: E.B. White: Charlotte's Web/ Stuart Little/ Trumpet of the Swan (Hardcover)
These 2 books are not just fun and adventure but inlaid with more in-depth meaning. Friendship, trust and encouragement between 2 different species Charlotte (the spider) and Wilbur (the pig) - applies to people as well, whether you are of different races or colourTake another example Stuart Little, despite the fact that a cat traditionally catches mouse, Snowbell (the cat) dismisses this tradition to save and befriend Stuart Little (the mouse). What more, human parents chose to adopt a mouse instead of their own human being to display selfless love. These 2 titles make good moral reading for children. They have accompanied me through childhood to adulthood and has thought me to be sensitive to people's feelings.

Stuart Little,

This review is from: E.B. White: Charlotte's Web/ Stuart Little/ Trumpet of the Swan (Hardcover)
Stuart Little is a mouse that is about 2 inches tall. Stuart is part of the family of the Fredrick.C.Littles. He has a friendly but shy manner. He's very smart for a mouse but his size gives him trouble sometimes. His life is an adventure when he sets out on the age of seven,he trys to find his dearest friend,Margalo, a friendly little bird who stayed with the Littles in their Boston Fern.Stuart Little is an interesting book. I enjoyed reading it beacause it was funny and it had interesting vocabulary. There were some sad parts in the book. This Book got me absorbed into it. I would recommend this book for children of the ages of 8 to 12. If you like fantasy stories then you would love this book. If you are a person who likes certain kinds of fantasy books then you should probably enjoy Stuart Little because you may get absorbed into the book. Also if you like fantasy books that have animals in it that talk and you like the Author E.B.White then you'll like this book.

Charolette's Web Review,
By Tonya Waller (Tennessee, United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: E.B. White: Charlotte's Web/ Stuart Little/ Trumpet of the Swan (Hardcover)
E.B. White's book Charolette's Web is a wonderful childrens book as well as for adults. It is a great moral reading book for readers of all ages. This story is about two friends that are completely different but overcome the differences and become best friends. Charolette is a spider that lives in the corner of a barn where Wilbur the pig stays. Charolette is portrayed as a mother figure to Wilbur. Many people can related to this story. It is veryy conforting and has the happy ending that everyone loves. There is adventure and excitement through out the story. Children will find it humorous as well as interesting, whereas adults might see it as teaching a very good moral about life and the situations one is faced with everyday. E.B. White is a wonderful writer in the way that he is very discriptive through out the entirety of the book, which is great becuase you as the reader feel as though you are there in the barn with the characters. I enjoyed this book as a child and just recently reading it as an adult enjoyed just as much if not more because there are many meaningful things one can see now where as a child might not.

This review is from: E.B. White: Charlotte's Web/ Stuart Little/ Trumpet of the Swan (Hardcover)
"Stuart Little" by E.B. White was full of adventure and humor. We found Stuart to be a very funny and believable character. We did, however, think it a bit strange that no one, except the policemen taking the missing person's report, found it strange that Stuart was only 2 inches high and looked like a mouse. We would definitely reccommend this book to anyone looking for a laugh or adventure.

Stuart Little is a good book,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Three Beloved Classics by E.B. White: Charlotte's Web, Stuart Little, and The Trumpet of the Swan (Boxed Set) (Hardcover)
Stuart Little is a mouse and he is a great help around the house, but sometimes he gets into trouble, like when he got dumped in the garbage dump. I think it's cool how a human mommy and daddy had a baby who is a mouse instead of a kid. I like how Stuart liked Margalo the bird.Kids that should read this book should be 4 or up.

These books are classics. I bought them for myself, but plan to read them to my children as they grow older. I had read "Charlotte's Web" in grade school. It was a pleasure to read the others!

This review is from: E. B. White Box Set (Paperback)
So many kids books are written so poorly, and with such poor structure and weak story lines, they make it hard to convey any sense of flow or emotion to your kids. To pick up these classics reminds one of the golden age when authors wrote stories with meaning and impact. Glowing descriptions, scene setting introductions to chapters, polite conversations recorded in proper English, all this is the heritage of EB White and these books. Highly, highly recommended - your kids will not want to stop reading and listening...makes bedtime each night a joy because they can't wait to find out what happens next.
