This review is from: B12 Methylcobalamin B-12 1000mcg 100 Lozenges (Health and Beauty)
From what I've read, methyl B12 seems to be the best source of the vitamin. If you have pernicious anemia, 3-4 of these lozenges a day should do the trick. If you are a vegan and need some extra B-12, you can probably take one a day (or every other day). The pills are vegan (no animal products) and taste pretty good (slight lemon flavor).

After eating a vegan diet for 3 years, I started having serious problems with fatigue. A blood test revealed low B-12 levels. The doctor recommended monthly B-12 shots, but the bright red dye in the injections freaked me out (what IS that stuff?) and I didn't want the inconvenience of needing to go get shots, so I started taking the Jarrow Methyl B-12. My fatigue disappeared rapidly and my B-12 levels normalized. There is scientific research that shows B-12 absorption is not effected by whether you chew the tablets or dissolve them sublingually, so I chew them. Methyl B-12 is the best form to take as it is more bioavailable, and the more commonly found cyanocobalamin form of B-12 leaves trace amounts of cyanide in the body. Who needs that?! A highly regarded nutrition researcher and lecturer recommended the Jarrow brand to me and I'm very happy with the product.

Good, but takes a while to dissolve,

I like this product. My doctor suggested I take B12 and after doing some reading, it seemed methylcobalamin was the best form because it was bioactive. Taking high levels of B12 is good for lowering your homocysteine levels and I've read that high levels of homocysteine is a risk factor for heart disease. It's also an energy booster. I like the flavor. The only downside is that it takes a little while to dissolve. It doesn't bother me, but my husband doesn't like it for this reason. Superior Source makes instant dissolve vitamins so if the dissolve time is an issue for you, I'd suggest that brand. I've never tried their B12, but I have the D3 and the tablets are tiny and dissolve instantly. I think they are $9 on evitamins.com. If the dissolve time and size aren't an issue for you, I always buy these. You can get $5 off these Methyl B-12 tabs on iherb.com using the coupon code MOS036.
