4.0 out of 5 stars the game October 21, 2007
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This game was pretty good.

I thought that it was going to be bad but it was actually pretty good, the levels were just a little to easy though. Overall it was good. I recomend that you shoud buy this game.

I was getting bored of my nintendo ds and then i bought this game and now i play it all the time. When you play the game over agian you don't even realize the difference from when you first played it the first time. You got to do everything, shoot the planes, fly the plane, drop the bombs, everything. The only thing I have agianst the game is that you fly solo and not with other planes. Its awesome, still buy it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Repetitive eventually equals boring November 24, 2009
By NYJ
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
Having finished some of my other games, I decided I'd devote time to B-17 "Fortress in the Sky". I started the game on "Novice" level to see if I could pick up the controls and game play quickly. The controls are very easy to handle, with the "A" button used for firing (and dropping bombs), the directional pad for moving your guns (and airplane), and the shoulder buttons for cycling through the nine machine gun positions on the B-17.

Each mission starts with a briefing where you are shown your main target with a history of the objective. Then you are brought to a page which lists your secondary targets as well. You watch your plane take off and are then immediately placed into a gunners position ready to fight off the "Jerries" (slang for Germans). In this first stage you fight off waves of German planes utilizing your nine gunner positions. All you do here is switch between the positions to get airplanes coming at your from various positions. Once you fight off the initial wave you are then put in charge of the plane to dodge flak. Really here all you are doing is moving the plane left to right to avoid the flak clouds. There is no changing altitude, no changing speed, no firing guns, no dropping bombs. Just moving left to right. Then you fight another wave of fighters. Once this "third stage" is complete, you are put in the Bombardier position with a bomb reticule where you search for your targets (bridges, factories, AA gun positions, boats, airfields) and drop bombs on them. Here you're either pressing "A" to release an endless supply of bombs, or changing your altitude and moving left to right to line up your shot. Once this stage is done, you go back to fighting back one last wave of fighters on the return home.

This pattern repeats itself for twenty five missions.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a basic game to pass the time April 22, 2010

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Unlike some of the other buyers, I am NOT a hardcore "Gamer". I bought this game for it's simplicity. I wanted something to pass the time and have a little fun with. This game has just enough variability to be interesting. It wasn't difficult to play and was just what I wanted....to enjoy...not to be frustrated.

5.0 out of 5 stars B-17 Fortress in the Sky Review September 24, 2009

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is one of the best unknown DS games. Its controls are very easy and simple to use. The creators of this game mastered all viewpoints of the different crew positions. You play as every crew member, from the pilot to the bombadier as well as the gunners. Its very easy to pick up and play a mission. I love it and its one of my favorite DS games.

4.0 out of 5 stars fun little game November 18, 2009
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Don't expect too much from a flight sim on the DS - its just not gonna be like any other console.
But as far as the DS goes, this game is fun and will help you kill some time.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME WW2 GAME!! February 10, 2014
By Gamer80
This is a great game for WW2 fans! I myself have beaten it several times & STILL love it!! You get graded on how well you destroy a target. You can switch between all gun positions & have to dodge flak. In all, it's actually pretty easy after a while. It really gives you an idea what those guys did & what it was like. We lost lots of B-17s due to the stupidity of our "higher ups." They always believed "The Bomber will always get through." The Brits told us we should bomb at night, but they stupidly ignored the Brits wisdom & our boys payed for the higher ups stupidity & pride.
