This product has really helped me get things done around the house. Our daughter sits in this "babysitter" while I load the dishwasher, fold clothes, take a shower (she is right outside of the glass door so I can see her) and get her bottles ready. 3.0 out of 5 stars doesn't accomplish much more than cheaper bouncers do.
I have a very picky baby, so I can't really blame my dissapointment with the bouncer completely on the product. However, my baby does not care for it. I do use it to feed her in it. It is great that you can just throw the cover in the washing machine. I will definitly use it, but it is a little expensive considering it doesn't accomplish much more than cheaper bouncers do.

She also sits in it (as we have yet to get a high chair) at the dinner table with my husband and I when we eat dinner. She is on the floor, in the "babysitter" and not on the table. I have taken the cover off and washed it several times, and it still looks AMAZING! We also purchased the toy bar and she loves to spin the little attached toys. We purchased this when she was 12 weeks old and she is currently 18 weeks old and still loves sitting in it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great seat and great for infant reflux, February 17, 2009

I was searching for a seat we could use for our son with moderate/severe reflux. We've been keeping him in an extra car seat but its a nuisance and not safe unless we strap him in. Most seats/swings seem to make him curve too much and sit back. This seat is great. The most upright position is sooo upright, he just loves to have conversations and kick his legs in it (couldn't do in the car seat). And if he gets sleep, I can easily lay him back in it and he'll still be at a nice angle for his reflux issues. The fabric is soft and easily washable as I've already found out. Wish it was about 50 bucks cheaper because that's what I see as the value (I got mine on sale on Amazon for 120) but I am very pleased with this purchase. It's also nice that you can just slide them in and out without having to fuss at all with straps or snaps. Great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Seat Ever, April 20, 2010

I hardly ever write reviews, but for this product I just had to. I have a 4 year old son that I wish I would have discovered this chair sooner.... I am a big fan of reading parents reviews and couldn't find many on this particular item.... I have a 2 month old right now and I was researching bouncers before she was born, I had a large swing that was my sons which he loved.... I needed something a little more compact. Well let me just tell you , I was a little skeptical on spending that kind of $$ on a bouncer.... But it had a couple of pros light weight, can be washed, and can be folded for trips to grandma's house. I have had this bouncer since my daughter was 1 week old and she LOVES it, and so do I.... as a tiny infant she would fall asleep on it as her own motion would rock her, and she looked so comfy, I also purchased the wood toy, which at 1 week old didn't really make sense. My daughter just turned 8 weeks and she has finally learned to push it coo at it... It was amazing watching her... she still falls asleep in it and she looks so peaceful. And the best part is they didn't name it babysitter for nothing!!! It's my babysitter when I am cooking, cleaning, and just trying to do anything.... she even watches my son as he plays all around the house and runs around, now I can position her to the second level, but we still use the first. I can't say better things about this, especially now that I realize she isn't a great fan of the swing!!! Moms and Dads take it from a Mom that does her research... this will be one of the best purchases you can make, yes it's pricey, but honestly it's priceless!!! Can't put a price on a happy baby!!!! And get the wooden toy!!! I wish I could give this bouncer 10 stars!!!! and once they can walk they can still sit in it!!! Hope this helps any undecided parents!!! I did get the air in all black..... And yes, amazon had the best price!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC!, January 30, 2009
I've actually owned both the Baby Sitter 1-2-3 and the new Balance and the Balance is soooo much easier to adjust. I seriously fought with the other one to adjust (maybe this is just my problem) but the new one is so easy to adjust and wont wake the baby with a loud clicking noise and shaking. It's also better looking (IMO). The only thing the old one has is the great toy bar that came with it, but the new toy bar is nice too. I'm extremely picky but I love this bouncer. You will too! Also, they have incredible customer service, which is rare now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Baby loves it, February 13, 2011
By

I saw this on my Amazon rec's and was a little doubtful about it because of the price. After watching some youtube videos of babies screaming in delight on it, I decided to take the plunge. Our daughter is only two months old, so she can't muster enough kicking force to rock herself (I don't think she even understand cause and effect yet), but putting her in the chair and rocking it with our feet has been a great way to calm her down when she's upset and brings out the biggest smiles. We've left it in the "sleep" position without the body restraint attached, but will probably start fastening the harness when she gets a little older and graduates to the upper two positions.

To try and teach her how to kick operate the chair, I've been placing my forearm underneath her feet then letting go to help her push off -- she loves this game. Today after playing the kick game for about 10 minutes, I stopped to eat some lunch and when I looked back, she had the saddest look on her face and I saw a lonely tear rolling down her cheek. Our daughter hasn't produced enough tears to actually come out of her eyes, not from immunizations, heel sticks, or having 8 hour diapers... until now.

Pros:
1) No automatic parts, so it stops when your baby stops. We were worried our daughter would get addicted to the vibrating chair.
2) Folds up nice and flat, easy to carry and it's light.
3) Proportional response to how much the baby is moving, I like this more than a swing.
4) Baby friggin loves it!

Cons
1) I think it's a little overpriced, so if you can find it somewhere for less than one hundred it's a little easier to stomach if the baby doesn't like it.
2) The toy bar accessory is really expensive. We had the Tiny Love Sunny Stroller Arch (less than half the price of the bjorn toybar) for her car seat and it attaches to the Bjorn too. When we first put it on and bounced, our daughter's eyes went wide in amazement at all the dangling bits swinging around.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous chair/bouncer, May 8, 2009

This chair/bouncer is REALLY expensive which is the only reason why it is 4/5 stars and not 5.

Now that we've dealt with the price, I will go on to say that it's worth the money. I also have a much cheaper Fisher Price bouncer (the one with vibration) which my 3.5 month old son doesn't look as comfortable in. I think it's because with the Fisher Price bouncer, his legs stick out at an almost 90 degree angle from his body.

With the Babybjorn however, he's actually sitting with his bottom supporting his weight, with his legs hanging down as if he were in a real chair. I really like the fact that he kicks his legs and can be more active in the Bjorn. He can also sit more upright in the Bjorn, allowing him to see more around him.

Theoretically, there are three settings: play, rest and sleep, but the difference in angle isn't that big. I have been able to change the recline angle easily while he's in the chair.

We are taking a long road trip this summer and because the chair folds flat, we will be definitely be taking it with us when we go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lets Mom Have Some Free Time!, February 21, 2010
By

(REAL NAME)
We bought it when our son was 3 weeks old from a co-worker. If I hadn't been able to buy it from a friend, I would not have hesitated to pay retail for it. IT IS WORTH IT!!! Buying it after the baby was several weeks old really showed us how useful it is.

We can set him in the chair while we cook dinner, take a shower if the other parent is gone (with him in the bathroom), or just let him have some quiet play time.

My son absolutely despised tummy time until he was around 4 months old, so this was a total lifesaver. When he got tired of being flat on his back, I could set him up in this for a change of perspective and he would be perfectly content for 15-30 minutes. Trust me when 15-30 minutes a day of occupied, calm baby is worth the steep price they charge for this sucker. We also have the toy bar, and I will say that the baby does play with it.

I like that it's very well designed, has a relatively high weight limit, is very adjustable, and is simply designed with quality materials. We didn't want some garish, plastic, vibrating monstrosity in the middle of our living room.

We own the bjorn carrier (which I hate, but my husband couldn't say enough good things about), travel crib and babysitter, and they are all so convenient and well thought out.

When considering the high price, also realize that quality products will have a high resale value when you're done, vs. cheap plastic crap. So really, they potentially end up being a better buy, as you get more of your money back when you sell it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best for firstborns, April 16, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
In general I am quite pleased with the Babybjorn Babysitter, with the exception of it proving to be a tempting catapult for my older child to launch her little brother from. Also, it was so expensive I wished I had it for my first child just to feel as though I was getting my money's worth! Its sturdily built and I especially like how I can gently rock it with my foot while I'm sitting down to eat dinner.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Buy for Baby, February 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This seat is a must-have. After copious research, I purchased the Bjorn seat against the advisement of friends, who believed that the chair was too expensive because my son would tire of it after three months like any bouncy chair. Thirteen months later, my son still uses the chair every day and my friends get the seat as a gift for their second children.
My son actually slept in his seat for the first month of his life, and I do not know what we would have done without it. Yes, initially we had to bounce him in it, but he was very content. Sooner than we thought, he learned to rock himself and the sight alone of little legs moving in perfect rhythm is reason enough to get the seat. To this day, he starts his day in his chair while I make breakfast and loves to sit in it while we make dinner. It enables him to be a part of the action, while safely contained, yet he is still expending energy to bounce.
I would advise any parent to pay any amount for this chair. It is light weight and folds completely flat so it travels everywhere with us and acts as a seat for feeding in a pinch. Washing it is as simple as throwing it in the laundry. Bounce for bounce it is a better buy than any other seat out there, and if that were not enough, it actually looks nice in the house.

4.0 out of 5 stars a little pricey but quality product, February 24, 2009
By

lightweight and portable, would love it more and give it 5 stars if it was a little less expensive. would have purchased the older version (which my sister has) but the option of changing positions while the baby is sitting in it is a great plus.
