Product Description

Product Description

Because a baby's favorite place to be is snuggled up with mom or dad, the Baby Björn carrier allows parents to carry on with daily activities while keeping the baby close and content. An award-winning design, the carrier provides safe and snug head support for newborns as small as 8 lbs., and accommodates comfortably as the baby grows. Older children up to 22 lbs. can face forward while the seat height adjusts gradually. It's easy to put on and take off with side latches, buckle closure and all adjustments made in front. Wide padded shoulder straps distribute the weight evenly for comfort. Carrier provides privacy for nursing and easy-remove front allows parents to quietly put down sleeping baby. Not for biking or other sporting use. 100% cotton. Machine wash. Imported.

While a tad more expensive than most other baby carriers, Baby Björn carriers offer parents some wonderful design features that make it well worth the extra money. By allowing you to hold your baby snugly against your chest, the carrier promotes a sense of comfort and closeness between a parent and a child. It also allows you to maintain eye contact with and talk to your little one during trips to the store, walks around the house, and short hikes (for both mom and dad). The carrier's other big advantage is that it frees up both your hands while you carry your infant. The black carrier consists of a large triangular front piece that supports baby's head and body, along with a set of thick padded straps that are worn like a shoulder-and-waist harness. Newborns and smaller babies should always ride rear-facing in the carrier, while older babies who can hold their heads upright unassisted can ride forward-facing and enjoy the view ahead of them. Made of machine-washable 100 percent cotton, the carrier can be easily adjusted from the front for your baby's size. Although the carrier has been tested for use with babies who weigh from 8 to 25 pounds, some parents found that the carrier became uncomfortable to wear and placed a lot of strain on the lower back when it was used to carry a child weighing more than 20 pounds. --Chris Burns

This wasn't the carrier I had put on my baby registry but my mom heard good stuff about it (she's a Labor and Delivery nurse) and bought it for me. Ever since Emily was born she has liked it. I liked how I could look down at her when she was facing me and how it supported her neck. She didn't like her stroller much before so I used this a lot when she was just a newborn just to go shopping or run errands. Emily is now 5 1/2 months and faces forward and loves riding in it and watching everything. I wore it hiking in Colorado and she had a blast. My best friend bought a different carrier and was very disappointed with how she needed an extra hand to put her baby in it. When she tried the Baby Bjorn she was amazed at how much easier it is to put on and how much more comfortable it is to wear. I'm 5'2" and my husband is 6'4" and we can both wear the Baby Bjorn comfortably. The only thing that isn't so great about wearing it is how hot it gets. Emily and I both get really hot but it doesn't seem to bother her too much. Otherwise this is a really useful item plus it doesn't look as tacky or obnoxious as some of the other carriers I've seen.

We received this carrier as a gift at a baby shower after our son was born, and it's by far the best carrier we've used. (We received a few other carriers as gifts and purchased one ourselves.) From the level of comfort for baby & parent you can't beat it. One carrier had a tendency to slide off one of my shoulders. Another carrier was comfortable for me, but difficult to get baby in and out of without causing a fuss. If he fell asleep in it, there was no getting him out without waking him. The sling just never worked for us, due to lack of real instructions and an inability to get baby in a position that was comfortable for him.
But the Baby Bjorn is a dream as carriers go. I consider it the next best thing to my own two arms for carrying my son. getting him in and out is very easy and after a few minutes he gets accustomed to it. It's very comfortable for the parent as well, and can be worn without risking a backache later. Best of all, I can get little things done around the house (tasks that take 15 - 20 minutes tops), especially if I put him in the carrier after he's just been fed and changed.
If we hadn't gotten it as a gift I would probably have been put off by the price, but now that I've used it, I have to say it's worth the cost. You get what you pay for, when it comes to baby carriers.

My husband is 6'4" and I am 5'8". We were given the standard Baby Bjorn as a gift and were disappointed with the way it fit. After carefully reading the directions we realized that we needed one with XL straps. It made all the difference. We love the new carrier. If you are tall - don't skimp - you need the longer straps.

When I decided I wanted a baby carrier I looked at them all. I thought the baby bjorn was very high priced so I went with the snuggly. I could not get my son in myself and there were so many buckles I was afraid he would fall out. I returned it and bought another brand, similar problem so I bought the bjorn with the intention of trying it out and then most likely returning it. I put it on, put my son in it by myself and I was hooked. I've been using it since he was about three weeks old (he's five months now) and we both love it. We just spent a week in Orlando at the theme parks and even though we took the stroller- the bjorn was a life saver. Each time he'd get cranky or tired I'd put it on and he'd fall fast asleep. He loves looking around and I love having him so close to me. I never worry that the carrier isn't fastened correctly- you don't have to with this one. I can walk for an hour or two and the carrier doesn't hurt my back or shoulders. In fact, it's much more comfortable than if I were carrying him. It goes on with a snap, baby goes in without any trouble and it's so easy to get him out when the time comes- even if he's asleep. I have gotten lots of comments and questions when I wear my bjorn and I always tell people it is the best money you can spend as far as baby products go- GET ONE!I also tell people not to waste their time/money on the others. The baby bjorn would be a bargain at twice the cost. This is a wonderful product.

If you want a carrier, this it THE ONE!! and only! The Bjorn is comfortable for both you and baby, it is easy to put baby in and take out, its easily adjustable, and best of all, your baby is safe!! My husband and I both wore it. We used it for many, many months (and my daughter was in the 95th percentile for both height and weight). It made outings and errands (including grocery shopping) sooooo much more convenient. We chose to purchase the bjorn based on its positive reviews. I have heard too many people complain about the "more economical" brands. I have washed the Bjorn many times and it still looks brand new. It was definitely worth the money. If you want a quality carrier that is comfortable, easy to use, and will withstand much use, this is the one for you.

This was freedom for me to go out and about!!! I had another type (Infantino). It was cheap and hurt my back. The Bjorn is WONDERFUL. I had no pain and I'm 5'1". It was easy to put on and take off because all the attachments are in front. It's adjustable as the baby grows. Best thing ever! It allowed me to go shopping and run errands for much longer than when I had the infant car seat in a shopping cart. The Bjorn lulls the baby to sleep and makes him warm. When they are tiny, they don't cry as frequently in the Bjorn. You can even bend over and he won't fall out!! Your hands are free. You can do just about anything with the Bjorn on. I even exercise wearing the Bjorn--step aerobics and hand weights.
Now that my baby weighs about 18+lbs, he's getting too heavy for me to heave around for long periods of time. My back is starting to hurt after trips. I am cursing the end of my wonderful Bjorn!!
