The lightweight Travel Crib Light is a breeze to take down and carry around when traveling.

(Shown here in Blue.)
Sturdy, Lightweight Crib is Perfect for Travel
The lightweight construction of the Travel Crib Light makes traveling hassle-free for parents. Weighing less than 11 pounds (including the case), the crib is easy for any adult to carry around the house, pack into a car, or carry through an airport.

Measuring 45 x 31.5 x 23.5 inches (L x W x H), the crib has a uniquely compact design that features a base with slanting edges. This means the crib stands firmly and doesn't wobble, even if little ones are standing up or if older siblings are leaning against it. The see-through mesh panels on the sides allow parents and caregivers to keep an eye on their sleeping tot.

Provides Cozy, Waterproof Sleeping Quarters
Made of soft, thick cotton, the Travel Crib Light's insulated mattress is both cozy and roomy, creating a restful environment for your child wherever they happen to be. It also comes with a removable, waterproof cover, which helps protect against leaky diapers.

Sets Up, Takes Down and Transports Easily
Assembly of the Travel Crib Light is an easy task. Especially convenient after a long day of travel, the crib takes seconds to set up or take down. Just remove the Travel Crib Light from its travel case and unfold the frame -- no pushing, pulling, or locking of rails is necessary -- the legs will automatically set and lock in place. Once the frame is set-up, simply place the mattress in the bottom and you are set for sleep.

When traveling by car, the crib folds up small enough to take along in the trunk. For airport travel, you can easily pack it into a larger suitcase or carry it like a bag using its handy carrying case with a sturdy canvas handle.

Features Safe, Easy-to-Clean Materials
All of the fabric and materials used in the Travel Crib Light are Öeko-Tex Standard 100 Class 1 certified, which means they are guaranteed to be safe and free of any harmful substances. The cotton mattress cover and fabric on the exterior of the crib are removable, machine washable, and smooth on your child's skin.

The BABYBJÖRN Fitted Sheet (sold separately) is a perfect fit for the Travel Crib Light.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great!! Just a few "flaws"... July 6, 2009
By K W
Color Name:Blue|Amazon Verified Purchase
I wish I'd known about this travel bed before I jumped on the Pack n Play bandwagon. Luckily I got a used PnP so not much money wasted. Too bad the Baby Bjorn Travel Crib Light (BBTCL) doesn't have a changing table add-on, or it'd have (nearly) everything.
This is a great "little" travel crib compared to the PnP - 11lbs compared to 30lbs. In planning a 3-wk trip by myself with my child, stroller, car seat, luggage, carry on, and diaper bag, I knew I couldn't afford the space and weight that a PnP would take, so I went for the BBTCL. Here is my impression:
PROS:
-it sets up like a dream; I didn't even look at the directions and was able to set up and take down in no time by myself.
-feels sturdy and safe for my wiggly, crawling 8-mo-old (time will tell if that rings true for an older, standing child).
-mattress is cushy and feels like it's comfortable for a child.
-my standard crib sheets fit this well (esp. the ones that are slightly tighter on the crib mattress) - so DON'T FALL INTO THE TRAP OF BUYING THE $40 BBTCL-SPECIFIC CRIB SHEET! - try out your own sheets first; I don't have to use any fasteners to keep the regular sheet tight enough in the BBTCL, and the mattress pushes down into the bottom of the travel crib well enough to keep the sheets tight.
-easy to just toss in the car, not heavy.

CONS:
-this will *definitely* not fit in standard-sized luggage. I've had to search around for luggage that will fit this bed, and it doesn't leave much room for packing clothes and essentials for a trip. However, I will make it work since I don't want to deal with 2 suitcases and don't want to pay the ridiculous airline fees for extra luggage.
-This will not work as a carry on, for several reasons. 1) The total dimensions are 46.5", 1.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Travel Crib on the Market! December 31, 2007
Color Name:Blue
This travel crib is amazing! We tried setting up a pack-n-play, what a fiasco. The baby was screaming because he was so tired and I just couldn't move fast enough setting the dumb thing up. The Baby Bjorn Travel Crib on the other hand sets up in under 10 seconds - really. I was absolutely amazed. It took very few brain cells to set up - like maybe 11 :) or in other words it's extremely simple to set up. I'll admit it, I didn't even look at the instructions because it's so intuitive. Try that with a pack-n-play that needs certain parts clicked in before others, etc.

It takes up very little space in the car (the pack-n-play took up at least double the space). And you can take it on an airplane as a checked piece of luggage without it getting damaged. The mattress is thicker and more comfortable than other travel cribs. And another nice feature is that there isn't a bar running under the mattress like the pack-n-play making it miserable for the baby.

The only problem I've seen so far is that the mattress doesn't come with a sheet. But those are easy to come by so it's not really been a problem.

All in all it's a fantastic travel bed and we are very glad we spent the money and got the best on the market.

This crib is pretty much as advertised. It sets up in seconds (such a great feature for those late night hotel check-ins, no thought involved, just pull out and unfold) and is very comfortable. My daughter slept through the night in it (which she never does!).

However, a few thoughts.

1. The legs extend out and I kept tripping over them as I got out of bed (we had the crib next to me). Be very careful to remember the crib's 'footprint' is wider than you think and those legs are trippy.

2.I was excited to see reviews that said they set the Bjorn crib up in the airport for their baby as when we travel overseas it's a day and a half of travel to our destination with lots of layovers. I initially thought the crib was small enough to be a carry on. Now that I have it, I think it's too wide for overhead compartments on a plane. I think we'll have to check it.

3. Supposedly this crib can be used for several years, however, the Bjorn is a mini-crib. It's not very long. So if you have a tall baby (which we do) it may not last much past the first year or two.

4. I don't think the Bjorn makes a good playpen. It's too small and the walls provide little support. For longer road trips, we'll be taking the pack and play to use as a playpen.

But overall we are happy with our purchase and do recommend the Baby Bjorn Travel Crib if you have lots of places to visit with a baby in tow.

4.0 out of 5 stars My 14-month old son can climb out October 25, 2010
Color Name:Blue
Length: 0:30 Mins
I bought this crib when my son was 1 year. I agree with all of the other positive feedback; light; easy set up, etc. However, I was really disappointed when my son figured out how to climb out of it the day he turned 14 months. For the price I didn't get as much use as I would have liked. My son is about 75th percentile in height and weight, so he is big, but not off the charts enormous. Just something to keep in mind if you have a big baby. See attached video if you want to see how it's done, just don't let your baby see.

4.0 out of 5 stars BabyBjorn vs. Phil & Ted travel cribs June 28, 2011
Color Name:Blue|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have two Baby Bjorn travel cribs for my baby twins and a Phil & Ted travel crib for my older child. Which one is better for air travel? Which one for car travel? There is a difference.

BABY BJORN

The BabyBjorn travel crib can't be beat for use at home and for car travel, as it can be set up and disassembled in about 30 seconds. We use American Baby Company 100% Cotton Value Jersey Knit Porta-Crib Sheet, Celery and they fit the mattress perfectly, at a fraction of the price of the Baby Bjorn crib sheet. My son sleeps in the travel crib almost every night and seems comfortable, as the mattress is fairly thick and has no bars underneath like a pack n play would. However, at 31", I think he'll outgrow it in a few months as there is not a lot more room lengthwise (the mattress is 24" x " 41").

The material of the crib is also worth noting. It's soft and cottony but over time, it will probably show stains as my babies tend to suck on everything they can. They're not standing up yet.

The Baby Bjorn travelcrib is also lot larger folded up than the Phil & Ted's. I wouldn't use it for air travel if you want to minimize the amount of luggage - it's bigger than a carry-on and may have to be checked. I doubt the fine zippered bag it comes in will hold up to baggage handling. It's also way too expensive - it costs almost as much as my son's Bonavita crib!

PHIL & TED'S

The com/phil-teds-Traveller-Crib-Black/dp/B004H7RT3S">phil&teds Traveller Crib, Black on the other hand is a great travel crib for air travel as it folds up very small, is super lightweight, and fits into any suitcase or duffle - I think you could fit two in a without any problems in terms of size or weight. However, it does take about 15 minutes to set up and to disassemble and fit into the small bag it comes in. So plan ahead, practice at home, have your child sleep in it a night or two so they get used to it if possible, and bring along the manual, just in case. Set it up as soon as you get to your destination - you don't want to do this later on with a tired crying child.

The self-inflating mattress on the P&T is long and narrow, similar to those used for camping. We put the mattress inside and used regular crib sheets on it and tucked them well underneath (the newest model has a vinyl sleeve to put the mattress into). It will probably work for kids up to age 3, as any older, they may not like being confined in a smallish space. My two-year old child slept well in it on long trips and it still looks new after much use, with a material that is easy to clean.

Although harder to set up and dismantle, I found the Phil & Ted to be great quality, super compact and much less expensive than the Baby Bjorn travel crib. It's also likely that I'll be using it longer than the BB, as it's more compact and can be used outdoors as well.

In a nutshell, both are good but with some disadvantages - the Phil & Ted crib is better for air travel and indoor/outdoor use, while the BabyBjorn one is better for home and car travel. Regardless of which you go with, it may be a good idea to put your kids in their stroller or bouncy seat while you assemble either one of these (like the Go-Pod Portable Activity Seat in Pistachio by Kidco. You don't want little fingers in the way.

Finally, once your kids outgrow these travel cribs, consider getting the excellent AeroBed Sleep Tight Inflatable Bed for Kids. It works well for kids three and over, with built in side and end rails, sheets, detachable electric pump and storage bag with shoulder strap. It's very comfortable, easy to clean, can be used at home for sleep-overs and great for trips.
