BAC Industries BG-08 Heavy-Duty Brush Grubber,

Works well. Grabs and pulls even the small branches. Need to be strong as opening the jaws and handling this unit in confined spaces is a tough job. There is no slipage and this monster gets the job done. Pulling trees is definitely a two person job - one to drive and one to afix the brush grubber and then open and remove the pulled trees.

Started digging up rhododendron bushes with a shovel and mattock, so I was soon looking for a better (easier) way. I remember seeing these somewhere, so I thought I would try it. What a tool! I just clamped the Brush Grubber on to the trunk of the rhododendron and hooked it to my jeep and pulled the whole bush out of the ground, roots and all! Just unclamp it and clamp to another one and before you know it you have a huge pile of debris to get rid of! Really a time and back saver. I used a rope but I reccommend a chain instead. The rope stretched a lot and could become a slingshot if something gives. I elected for the heavy duty Brush Grubber and I am glad I did. Amazon had a great price and free shipping. Amazon is hard to beat!

The Heavy-Duty Brush Grubber is exactly that: HEAVY DUTY. I was amazed by the weight of the product when I picked it up. I used it to pull some evergreen bushes and a small tree from my yard and it worked flawlessly. I used a Kawasaki Brute Force 750cc ATV to pull the shrubs. Even in 4 wheel drive and low gear I could not simply just pull them out. I had to get the tool tightened up on the trunks of the plants and then back up slightly and gun it forward to yank them out. The tool withstood this abuse and I am completely satisfied.

husband likes it it should help us clear out a lot we have near the lake.lots of trees different sizes. he said a handle to open the jaws would make it much eaiser for one man to operate. he has shown it to friends and 4 people have said they will be getting one also. i would like to know someone who has one of the smaller ones with the long handle he seems to think i would like it and use it .but first i would like to see it and try it out before getting one. he hooks his up to a chain hoist, and pulls live redbuds, dogwoods sugar maples, and seals the hole with pruning sealer and transplants them .

Heavy duty grubber works as advertised. I have used it for pulling pine, sweet gum and scrub oak up to the 4" capacity of the jaws. This tool has saved me so much time and effort. Very well built.

Very effective and built like a tank (I have the HD version). Doesn't ride up like a wrapped chain. I recommend it.

Tough Tool, Works Great, Heavy Duty,

I've been using this with a 45HP 4WD tractor pulling out 3 to 4 inch diameter trees, it works great!!! Heavy steel plate construction the BG-08 is much stronger than the cast BG-01. For anything bigger than brush I suggest the BG-08, it's a little heavier to carry but vastly stronger. When it comes to pulling out trees, roots and all, this is a real time saver compared to a standard chain.

With this grabber, a tow chain and a tractor or pickup to pull it, removing small stumps (less than 4" or so) is very easy. Heavy and well made.

Received this for Christmas and it does exactly what you would expect it to do. I use a John Deere 4200 utility tractor and it snaps out the stumps with no problem.Even cedar trees which have deep verticle roots are not a problem although, you may need to pull from several directions in order to loosen it. You will not be disappointed with this unit.

I beat the bejesus out of this thing! I used it to clear a half acre of overgrowth and it took all I could throw at it. I pulled with a lawn mower, and with a 1979 F150 monster truck. The only weakness I could find was the spring but since I abused it so badly I can't really complain. It withstood two angry rednecks kicking it repeatedly until it fit onto a tree that was probably too big for it than pulled on it with a nearly 400 hp truck until a 3/8 chain snapped and left a huge dent in the tailgate. The brush grubber was fine and when I put a half inch chain on it it finished the job. It was hard to get back off the tree, but I was able to beat it back off with a rock and it continues to work fine to this day. Half inch chain gets heavy when you have to keep moving it by hand though. My only suggestion is to buy a very heavy duty nylon pull rope with it. Dragging a chain around sucks, and it seemed to work better when we changed to a nylon tow rope because when the chain bounced wrong sometimes it would fall off the tree if it wasn't put on well to begin with. I really wish we had used the tow rope from the start. Also I'd still have my good 3/8 chain and a dent free tailgate! As for the spring just make sure you put the spring side down when you put it on the tree and you'll have less problems. Learned that the hard way.
