I read other reviews before purchasing this cover. Most said they had a hard time understanding the instructions. I had no problems understanding the instructions and installation was easy. I would have given the cover 5 stars except for their drainage system. Why would I want to have two plastic drain tubes running down the inside of my box and then out the front of the box through the beds drain plugs at the bottom. I purchased two male to male plastic friction fit street ells the same size as the hose. Measured down 1 1/2 inches from the bottom of the rail drain and drilled a hole out the top front of the box. Cut enough hose to connect the drain to the ell. The ell sticks out the front of my box approximately 1 1/4" and allows waster to drain between the cab and box. When my cover is folded open you cannot see the drains and it leaves a clean look to the interior of the bed. I have not ran it through a car wash or run in a hard rain to see how well the cover seals, but so far so good. Cover looks great and I'm very happy.
I have now run my truck through the car was multiple time and find no leaks inside. Drain system alteration I installed works great.

Installed myself on my new 2012 Ford Raptor SCREW. Install went smoothly and the cover functions and looks great! I even added the Ford bedrug later for a real nice look. Everything seems to work together nicely as I have the Ford bed extender as well. I haven't noticed any leaks yet. I drilled the two plastic bed caps at the cabin for the cover drain tubes to run through. I figured I could always buy new ones if I messed up or wanted to put back stock. Amazon had the best price on F1 at a little over $800 shipped no taxes.

I purchased this cover one year ago this month, so this is a long term review of sorts. At first, the cover was great, fairly easy to install and worked as advertised. Over the course of the past year I've experienced several issues with the cover. First: the two exterior tie down hooks have rusted. Second: The exterior backflip decal has started peeling off. Third: The rubber tailgate seal has partially separated from the cover. Fourth: The once semi-gloss black paint has completely gone flat and is showing signs of wearing away completely in some spots. Fifth, and most recently: The pull cable by the tailgate disconnected, leading to disassembly of the entire metal/plastic latch cover system to figure out what happened. Turns out the cables are wrapped around the latches on each side and squeezed with a metal clamp. The cable pulled right out of the clamp.

I have cleaned and re-painted the rusted hooks. What was left of the decal has been removed. The tailgate seal was re-attached with automotive adhesive. The pull-cable was repaired (took 35-minutes). haven't decided what to do about the faded paint yet.

BAK has a technical support/warranty e-mail which I have contacted with the above issues, however they have never gotten back with me (it's been months). Overall a good design and idea, but appears the long-term quality isn't there.

I am very happy with this product. It is difficult to mount with a bed liner (specifically the drain lines for the track), but it only took about 35 minutes to do.

This item fits just ok. Need to grind down one of the rails so I don't have to slam tailgate shut, and the seals on top left and right are messed up from packaging and don't lay flat. Not sure they ever will.

The above is my original review from January 12, 2013.

Today is June 3, 2014, and I feel I should update my review. As stated above, the seals on back left and right were curled and would not lie flat. I purchased some adhesive and laid some plastic over, then some sacks of mortar mix for weight. The next day, the adhesive picked up some of the color from the plastic I used, but the seals were flat, and have been since. The slight red color the adhesive picked up has worn off now. I agree with other users that the little rods that would hold it all up against the back glass are always popping out, but I rarely use it like that anyway. The cover does look great, and it fits real good now. I would order another one for my next truck as an actual topper is about $2500 these days and I'm not spending that. I have placed several eighty pound sacks of potting soil on top of the cover and went from our local Wal Mart to home without issue.

I did more than my share of research when looking for a tonneau cover for my new FORD F-150 (Crew Cab, Short Bed). I finally decided that I wanted to go with a hard cover and that, ideally, it would fold back. That boiled it down to only a few manufacturers. The BAK series of products had several features which stood out from the competition.

The installation of this product is super easy. The hardest (most time consuming) part is drilling the hole through the plastic bed hole covers located in the front of the bed. This is required for the drain lines. The directions state that the total install time should be about 30 minutes, and they are fairly accurate. I probably would have hit that target were it not for my kids wanting to help. In the end, it took me 45 minutes.

I am totally pleased with the way the product installed and how it looks. I personally prefer the look of a hard cover, as I think it gives the truck more of a finished look. I have already had to fold the cover back and lock it against the cab of the truck. That feature makes the BAK products really useful, and it truly separates the "men" from the "boys". In addition, you can use the deck of the cover as additional storage area as it does have tie down rings.... just be sure not to exceed the weight rating.

GREAT PRODUCT!!!
